A is not a NEC chipset. It's mediatek . only the Y models are NEC

[Y= NEC. No real LiteOn. These are just rebranded Sony NEC Optiarcs. You dont want these.]

  11. avatar metrx says:

Well if is the correct IHAS324-98B Than I Found it at my local retailer. I also found IHAS324-98Y at a different retailer, and I heard Y definitely shouldn't work.

And I dont know if this question has been answered. But what if our dl burners we own now work just as well, I had no problems truncating the xgd3 games or the completing the write at 97% all my games work fine, is this just to be 100% safe or to fix games like forza?

And even with these burners bought, do we still definitely need to buy the verbatim 8.7gb disk or can we still burn them on the 8.5gb disks????. Because if thats the case there is nowhere to buy the disks, I found the one link someone posted but stated not available.

    Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar HeyItsME says:

1st its safer to have them burn 100%
2nd there is no such DL thats 8.7gb thats why he is writing special firmware for the drives.
3rd Verbatim disc are recommended because c4eva said its the only ones that dont come back with errors when verifying

      Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar Kolewan says:

You can putchase the regular verbatims the 8.7gb is due to the burning process it undergoes which the Cfw for these drives will facilitate! C4eva mention mxm001 abd 003 verbs I think 001 can be burned @ 2.4x only and 003 can be burned @ 2.4, 4x. I could be wrong on the model number for the verbs tho

This customized PC DVD burner fw allows for burning 100% of an XGD3 ISO to regular DVD+R DL discs.

      regular DVD+R DL discs= 8.5GB DVD+R DL discs
      ——–
[2011-10-15 03:51AM UTC] #c4e different civ than forza, but full disc burn is obviously safer

[2011-10-16 10:00AM UTC] #c4e burner max fw doesnt force you to use verbatim media for xgd3 but they are the only ones that verify error free so far

    my drive Model: iHAS124-04 Y
    Chipset: NEC China MC-10045
    Manufactured: OCT '09 (in China)

@metrx there are no 8.7gb discs you just burn 8.7gb of data to the 8.5gb verbs (imo Singapore>india)

I mean dont get me wrong I appreciate C4's efforts in everything he does, but what the point of the custom burning firmware and specific drives if there are no 8.7gb disks available online or local retailer that sells them. Did someone buy all the 25 disk spindles from that first react website and are going to resell them for three times the retail price.

I don't understand why C4eva released LT 2.0 and at first said XGD3 rips burnt and 97% or truncated with 8.5gb disks were fine and now all of a sudden their not good enough? I think he shouldn't of released 2.0 if we're not ready for it, I'd rather of waited for everything to be complete then. Instead there is all this confusion and commotion.
I know people are going to get mad about what I'm stating but im sure im not the only one thinking this.

Again C4 your the man no doubt, just confused about all this and hope to play online safe again. Thanks

      Nothing wrong with LT2.0..

Just forza 4 had some cv checks in the parts that were truncated… now c4e is doing this to avoid trouble when other new games come out which have similar checks..

Burning to 97% is not consider XBL safe, hence the new burner fw and drives which allow 100% burning. There is no such thing as an 8.7GB Verbatim, the new fw, coupled with the specific burners will allow 100% burning to an 8.5GB Verbatim. That is the point of all of this.

    no…
only if the drives where the lite-on's with new firmware.

THINK before you post… WHY do we need the Verb's and the Firmware? and then slap yourself in the face.

The Verbs = Excellent quality, at the moment, theres around 1/2/3mm or whatever left on the edge of the disc which isn't being written to..

now normal discs are flaky here to record to due to quality so thats why they tend to leave it off (hence the 8.5GB)

now Verbs are great quality which means they actually seem to be working ok…

The firmware for the drive FORCES the drive to burn to this unknown territory on the discs which generally throws up errors and such…

so you HAVE to have the firmware…. not so much the verbs.. but they are the only ones which didnt error.

I kinda doubt they're going to become more expensive, it's not like they're new or possess earth-shattering technology. I see them going up and down a few bucks just like virtually all electronics do. Some mom-n-pop shops might inflate the hell out of them if they're "in the know" but retail chains and popular online resources are unlikely to do that in my opinion. Time will tell! :)

However I haven't used verbs in along time Ive used windata and have had much success.
When going to the store is there a way to tell if your buying a mkm001 or 003 what if I buy a mkm002 on accident?

And also when the burning software comes out will be able to verify if other disks such as windata or memorex on our own? Id assume if it burns without errors on our ends it would be fine, or would the disks need to be tested in a different manner.

The link that QuickMythrill (I believe he posted it) posted was actually for the standard Verbatim DL discs, they were simply mislabeled by the company selling them. All you needed to do was continue reading the thread you saw the link posted in because it was noted in there that those weren't really 8.7GiB discs. Google the product number.

As far as the MKM00* numbers, the MKM001's are labeled as 2.4x, the MKM003 are either labeled as 4x or 8x (not sure, I only have the MKM001's) but either way the lower the MKM number, the lower "rated" speed they will be labeled. When I say labeled, I mean the discs themselves literally have 2.4x printed on each disc and on the plastic that is wrapped on the spindle before you can open it. Hope this helps m8

It's done by someone seperate other then C4e..

Therefore it's out when it's out, be assured it will be spoken about a ot on here when it is ready..

however as C4E has stated….. if you make your OWN backups in XBC with the correct DAE.bin, with a 0800v3 firmware equipped Ripper,

you will be fine as it patches itself ;)

Thanks for the reply. Apparently these errors if there are any like forza happen online as well as offline. So if you played offline with truncated i should be ok to do the same….offline.

But my bro is on hitachi and he wanted it day one so he ordered me one and got himself one. Forza is sick. Cant wait to try out Batman though Asylum was a great game and i hear this is better.

If it's the wrong burner of course it won't be flashable. You can be sure by asking whoever you're buying it from to check the sticker on the box and/or the sticker on the top of the drive. The "B" is noted there alongside the model number and manufacture date.

SHould be fine from what i understand. Dont know what the -04 means compared to the -19 models may just be manufacturing thing but essentially it is the exact same model #. C4 doesnt specify on those numbers in any of his posts for compatibility. Just that it has to be IHAS124B. I myself also have that same drive you do IHAS124-04B made in december 2010. I beleive the problems lie within the A and Y chipsets in the drives.

I tried to research the difference real quick by googling both model numbers. IHAS124-19B googled alot of stuff came up for the model but it was in other languages i.e. not english. I googled IHAS124-04B and lots of info in english. The only thing i can figure at this point is its just a regional difference but no hardware difference.

If you're talking about the firmware for the DVD burners, the only supported drives are Lite-On not LG (also known as "LifesGood") and there has been no announcement of extending the burner firmware to other brands.

The iXtreme (also known as Lt+ or LiteTouch) is firmware for the XBox360 DVD drive, and again there are no LG XBox360 drives.

I'm not sure if this answers your question(s) m8, but I took a shot at it so hopefully it helps =)

I hava a question will this firmware eliminate xdg3 burning problems, Im talking about the fact that many peaple have to burn twice or even more times because they keep gettin "dirty disc error" when they play or try de copy the game on de HD,or is just a way for secure online playing?

    Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar brett says:

If your getting errors like that you probably have bad media or a weak laser on your burner. Or possibly burning too fast. Ive had three burners Lightscribe , Liteon, and a Sony no problems with burns. If you use proper ISO's , media , and decent enough burner none of thos errors should occur. The B-MAX's purpose is to be able to burn 100% ISO to dvd DL media. So far have played Rage for 17hrs , Gears3 for 20hrs and Warhammer for about 10hrs all XGD3 no issues whatsoever. Unless you have a Samsung drive which has issues with LT2.0 and C4 is working on 2.01.

      Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar phrizz says:

If the errors are related to CIV checks, I would say yes that this should fix the problem since you will now be able to burn the entire disc image as opposed to truncating and losing 2-3% at the end of the disc. But general "dirty disc" errors could be caused by a variety of different reasons.

Sorry, I have a Hitachi so I haven't played any XGD3 backups yet, just my originals, so I'm not entirely familiar with the XGD3-related errors people have encountered on truncated discs.
