Someone should ask C4E if he would mind releasing a version of LTMAX with 2.4x burning enabled for all dual layer discs.

Someone gave me comment a negative, really?! I hope whomever it was was just trolling because even with 'quality' discs not every xbox likes reading discs burned above 2.4x. And compared to the overburn routine hacking [XGD3] enabling 2.4x on duallayer media should be a breeze to incorporate. Even the people behind MCSE could enable 2.4x write support on all dual layer media codes IF they still had the drive they once had.

I've bought a Xbox for my son. We supposed that we could play copy games. But I've learned that we have a Hitachi 0500 DVD. So my son cannot play. Unfortunately we have not enough money to buy legal copy. We hopelessly are waiting for C4EVA to do a favor

I have noticed though, that if I burn a dual layer disc for other purposes I still seem to be able to use the extra 200mb that burnermax firmware utilizes. The discs still seem to work in everything though.

To be honest, I think it would be fine, but, a big 'but' I would not recommend updating in case M$ finally came up with something to defeat LT 3.0 using properly burned disc (Yea Right…), but still, there is that chance M$ actually found a way to check, doubtful since they continue to update dae.bin they seem to think ap25 is still working, maybe they're just catching out the current LT 2.0 users, then they will work on LT 3.0 later, but for now I think its fine (As long as your using LT 3.0 and your burning your discs correctly – BurnerMax firmware + verbz). I still am only using a dashboard "checked by c4eva", I'm not bothered, simple solution, if you want to play online, just put your original disc in, simple as.

I bought the ihas burner and have flashed it but having been using it, I am still using the trunicate method. My question is on the liteon drives once the latest dash is on that system I will have to rerip/patch and reburn all XDG3'S that were trunicated or don't have proper topology data correct. However my samsung since it doesn't read ap 2.5 or topology data will be fine no need to rerip or reburn disc. Is this correct? I am using the abgx now and making sure right topology data is on disc before burning but having still been using the trunicate method. Can't I replace my liteon drive with the samsung drive and there for not have to re-rip all games and reburn them and should I think use the ihas burn method going forward and why if swtich to samsung drive.

the samsung drive does not do ap2.5 checks, but a truncated disc causes you to fail CIV checks, so that's a different thing entirely. plus if you change your drive your xbox will still expect to have a liteon and it will try to do ap2.5 checks and fail since the samsung can't do it. in other words, just reburn your discs or you will have two things wrong with them.

I thought drives are not spoofed any more and you just flash them with the key no spoof and they still work? So if I put a samsung in, the drive still won't work because the motherboard will be attempting to do a ap 2.5 check?

correct, your xbox will try and the drive will not be able, so the ap2.5 check will fail. it will work, but you won't be able to play any ap2.5 enabled games, which would include all xgd3. you're better off having non-truncated discs with topology as they will run fine on any drive with 3.0, plus any non-ap2.5 drives with 2.0, and be safer for live.

So even if I don't spoof the sammy just flash with key it will still give the error (fail ap 2.5 challenges). That bites that is alot of games to redo.

        • avatar Stridz0r says:

As a matter of fact, the moment you put an AP25 disc in the drive, it will display a system error with a red flashing light. The system thinks the drive is (for example) LiteOn, but you have a spoofed Sammy, so when it makes the AP25 challenge it receives a bad response, system crashes, worries ensue – you must turn oof/on your box. Been there, done that.

So, as QuickMythril said: It won't work.

First off C4eva just want to personally thank you for all your hard work without you 360 modding wouldn't probably be what it is.

I am having lots of trouble burning with the ihas burner set up.

I have been burning disc for a long time never have any problems. I always use verbatims and almost always singapore ones. I have been using pioneer drives for ever and use imgburn to burn them. The trunicated disc all work fine on my samsung with 14599 dash. However finding more and more issues with my kids and friends xbox which are liteon drives.

I bought an ihas drive awhile ago I just haven't been using it. Bought a ihas 224b -gloa drive. I flashed it following instructions to a T. I set i to hyper burning and smart burn with eeprom utility, am currently using MKM003 verb media buring at 4x per your instructions. The image I am using was patched with abgx and topology data was patched properly ran again to verify is good image. my sata is set to IDE, I am using onboard sata. I can burn the image using trunicate and it works on my samsung but not on the liteon's tried buring this image 5 times with ihas setup and keeps failing first 4 times would fail right away soon as started burning but used a different onboard sata port and cable and the last time it burned fully but it kept getting errors during verification process. Put in 360 and image shows up but still get unsupported disc. Run disc in abgx and it shows fine good image. This process is starting to really piss me off. Miss the old method burn with imgburn with my pioneer and good as gold.

Now I always make sure to buy singapore disc and have bought from newegg forever and no am a little annoyed they sent me disc from india but have arleady started u sing them so not sure If I can return these perhaps that is my issue. I really need to get this figured out. Does it help if I cross flash to a ihas 624b, have also read about people running in safe mode and tried once but had a sata issue at that moment so not sure if that would fix it properly. I also have verify and OPC checked with the mkm 003 disc at 4x per your instructions. How do I make sure the image was ripped the right way per your instructions is there a program to check that or is running it through abgx sufficent for that. As well how do you patch topology data manually like with mass effect 3 which I heard you have to do.

One more question since my Samsung has no issue with trunicated disc, can I keep using that method for that drive is it possible microsoft can do a new check on the sammy's to kill it.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I've got a Wasabi 360 that's just begging to be used. I'd love to be able to use an external HDD to play my games so I don't suck the life out of the drive's laser. Until c4eva and team Jungle release a method for dumping the key for the DG-16D5S/1175, it's originals all the time :(

Just be patient, though. They're all hard at work making dreams come true for us :)
