Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S LT+ v3.0 Coming Soon & TX Unlocked PCB

Xecuter Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S Unlocked Replacement PCBGood news for all Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S owners who have been (im)patiently awaiting c4eva's custom iXtreme LT+ v3.0 firmware for their drives. Team Xecuter announced today the forthcoming availability of a brand new product, the Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S Unlocked Replacement PCB. This new unlocked replacement PCB is similar in nature to the v1.0/v1.1 version previously released for the Lite-On DG-16D4S drive model.

In addition to the firmware being encrypted, Vendor Mode is disabled, and the SPI becomes hard-locked upon first run of the firmware on the DG-16D5S, so this replacement PCB allows for the user to overcome this obstacle and have full ability to write stock or custom firmware to the drive.

The Xecuter Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S Unlocked Replacement PCB will soon be in full production and will be released in conjunction with c4eva's iXtreme LT+ v3.0 for Lite-On 1175 DG-16D5S which will move into the team testing stage shortly.

I have some questions about what I need so that I can play backups…
I need the PCB to write the custom firmware and something to read the key (maybe)
I read that I have to get and a DVD-Rom so that I can write the games to the DVD…
    Is it necessary?
    Is there an alternative way?
Can't I do it with my DVD-Rom I already have?

yes, u will need an iHAS or other compatible burner listed on the main page. if u dont have one of those burners then the only other method to burn XGD3 (which is almost any "newer" game) is to truncate which isnt considered live safe and i personally couldnt get my xbox (benq) to read truncates without constant 'dirty disc' errors. once u get one of those compatible burners (i recommend to get an iHAS, thats what the custom maxburn firmware was written for and also the one used in all the tutorials) u will need to flash the max burn software to the burner which will allow imgburn to use the full disc and burn XGD3 games fully without truncating!! i know what ur thinking, wow c4e is the man…and ur RIGHT…HE IS… C4E! C4E! C4E! C4E! C4E! C4E! C4E!

If I don't connect to xbox live while I am playing the game, will I have any problem?

There is still a chance you will have problems with a truncated game. You are prolly gonna have to just suck it up and buy the IHAS burner. Truncated games sometimes cause errors. Even a dash update forced by a game disc could cause issues with truncated games.

u can try all u want to save money and not buy all the hardware but i fear in the end u will waste sooo many discs and be sooo frustrated with ur "low budget" (nothing wrong with low budget, i understand trying to save money) setup that u will end up buying everything in the end anyway.

          I kinda figure that out… :(
The only problem is that I can't find any reason to buy the USB Pro V2…
As I can see, it can only be used to connect the DVD-Rom to the pc…
Can't I do it by powering up with the xbox and connecting it with a sata cable?
Is there anything else that I can use it for?

Also I was wandering if it is ok to buy a cross-flashable DVD-rom or will I have problem?

well wording it like that lol it doesnt sound like it does much no. but its a sata to usb mass storage controller. basically u wont have to worry about port i/o issues! sata chipset compatibility issues! 64bit OS issues!, and other stuff i cant think off while getting bitched at at work by someone who cant get their 2 routers to get 110mb download speeds lol. but the x360 v2 will power the drive for u along with talk to jungleflasher which brings more automation to the whole flashing process, i do believe itll also help with connecting a hard drive to the pc to write the files needed to allow u to use it for ur xbox (using a compatible hdd of course). as for buying a cross flashable burning drive that should work just fine! i personally havent tried any other than the iHAS drives but they are listed on this site officially so i would think they will work just fine (they prolly have the same exact chipset and boards just under different manufacturer names).

You will need the PCB to install to your current Xbox 360 drive and possibly the yet to be released XUSB360 Pro V2 to read the key. You will need one of the DVD burners for your PC that is listed on the first page along with the Burner Max Firmware in order to burn the games 100% on Verbatim MKM-001 or MKM-003 discs.

From the video, it appears to just be another ODDE of similar nature as the BoxZii Module 1 (possibly even a customized version or clone of it) with the USB being hooked up to PC for loading. If you're hoping for a flash-fw-and-go solution, that isn't it. That red box is extra hardware and you must still find a way to get your DVD key + fcrt.bin. If they had found an easy solution, they would have announced it. Their post-video leak vagueness doesn't bode well for that likelihood though.

According to their newly-released video and news post, the red box in the leaked video was debug/development hardware, and what was shown is actually their new Freedom 1175 replacement PCB with their own custom drive fw.

Don't know if this is truth, but I'm quoting anyway:

        "
        1) The aforementioned video is a POC (Proof of Concept), which should not be disclosed to the general public. This video is REAL.

        2) Our CFW will be “stealth” on Live, and has all the features of Ixtreme (probably more).

Since the video has been leaked, we might consider it “official” now. We are going to make another one, more detailed, in order to clear up any doubts. Stay tuned!

        * * *

Please make it clear that our CFW is currently fully working, is “stealth” on Live and has all all the features of Ixtreme 3.0 plus SOME MORE GOODIES REGARDING AP25 SECTORS MANAGEMENT…

        "

There is where my concern lies. The more "goodies" they add to the firmware, the more I wonder how "stealth" it will be. Doesn't LT stand for light touch. The older Ixtreme firmwares were changed to light touch to make them nearly identical to the originals so as not to be detected. When you start adding "goodies," will it still be undetectable? Can they add all of that and still keep it at 256KB? As far as AP 2.5 goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I have been using C4's firmware for almost 3 years and never been banned. I have kept up with the scene religiously until recently (got a new job). He will always be who I look to for answers. When they post a video showing the key extraction method BEFORE C4 releases his, I will take it seriously, and then I will still trust C4.

the red box is there, we can think is a odde, but they said had a CFW, wherever we have to wait and see what they have.

ODDEs have CFW too, not on the drive, but on the ODDE unit itself. Matrix Team haven't said that it's a custom drive firmware. But like you said, we'll have to wait and see.
