Why make 2.01 for hitachi 78/79's dont they have ap2.5 and be useless for anyone wanting to go online?

    • avatar Dave says:

They don't, but they aren't able to read XGD3 disks with old firmware.
      Or what do you mean?

i would agree, since 3.0 is right around the corner, i dont understand the purpose of 2.01 (except maybe just to have a standard fw across the board for lt2.0+
hitachi 78/79 does have ap25 so it is useless online with new dash

      • avatar Fabious says:

From what ive been told 78/79 drives do have ap2.5. I have seen several arguments about it in here and other forums. Meaning silent dae.bin update online means xgd3 backups dont work with them. 46-59hit and samsung do not support ap2.5. So 2.01 would only work for someone playing backups offline for hit 78/79. I know they need new firmware to read xgd3 backups. Just saying since those two support ap2,5 they would be affected by the dae.bin and need lt3.0 to play online again

      So..

Does anybody know if dae.bin is also been updated via these recent dashboard updates?

      • avatar QuickMythril says:

the very first beta dash had changes to the dae.bin that will require new xbc and other tools. they said games still boot, but unsure if it's "safe". not sure if there are differences in dae.bin between the various beta versions, buy why update to a different beta when there is nothing really new and no game requires it. enjoy what you can until LT 3.0

          Thanks for your reply.

Well, I am waiting for 3.0,

The questions I'm asking are really for customers who I mod consoles for, they keep asking, I keep telling them to wait, mainly due to the fact LT 2.0 patched games will not work on LT 3.0, basically all current AP25 titles will have an expiry date, when were finally forced to update to a new dash when most titles require minimum dash version.

With the above said my customers really don't care and are willing to keep on 2.0 and stay offline, so when they do that, will the dae.bin be updated via new dash updates as new games require updated dash.

From my point of view, I am telling them to not burn so many backups at this time and as soon as LT 3.0 is released start making LT 3.0 compatible backups.

So yea, the basic question remains, since dae.bin is been updated silently now, will it also be updated with system/title/dashboard updates also, I assume yes and push 3.0 on everybody, but that's my assumption.

          @John:
You're right. Keep telling them, because in the new games, AP 2.5 will be ripped apart from the disc's data and won't be able to boot under LT+ 2.0 or older firmware.

I boot hitachi 79 xgd3 my trick is as soon as u power on xbox and see the white intro screen, have your tray open and game inserted. So the sequence is with xbox powered off and the xgd3 title u want to play in tray. Open tray wait for xbox symbol close tray and boom when dash boots game pic should show at the my xbox menu. If u want to play til 79 fix is out.

I have a phat Lite-On 838c with LT+2.0 offline waiting for 3.0, and a phat online signed up for the betas. I do have to say I do not like the new menu look they are going for, kinda reminds me of the new windows phones home screens, but they kept the menu when you press the guide button the same so I'm happy.

I would like a an answer from the team about what assurances that LT3.0 will have measures to avoid flags due to XGD3 discs being detected as "Unsupported Disc", "Disc Dirty" etc.

The risks are always there but LT1.9 Stopped any issues with Flags and stopped the game from booting or through up a message to allow the player to stop using the faulty disc or bad back up.

It seems MS has flagged a lot of users with the silent .dae table updates and want to know if playing online will cause more flags, bans to occur or is this "Silver Bullet" method 100% untraceable with little risk to the console and online use?

    Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar QuickMythril says:

J, there is no way to prevent flags 100%. even retail discs can fail ap2.5 checks if they are damaged. if your disc is burned properly with the topology data, then LT 3.0 will be able to correctly give a response to ANY ap2.5 challenge that could come up for that game. even if microsoft changes the dae.bin every 5 minutes. basically the topology data is a record of what the physical retail disc is structured like, so combined with 3.0 it's as good as having a retail disc as far as ap2.5 challenges go. unless microsoft comes up with some other way to check for a retail disc, then there should be no problems.

    Hello,

I have a question that I cannot find an answer for.

I have my xbox connected to the internet, I do not have xbox live (well I do but its a free, silver, account)

I got the Disc unsupported error when I tried to play a backup of Halo CE anniversary. However my Skyrim backup worked fine for a few days after that (can anyone explain how I managed that?), it wasn't until I read on the internet clearing the system cache and disconnecting the internet would sort it. It didn't. All that did was stop Skyrim from working (still playing the original though)

I do not bother with online gaming. Doesn't appeal to me. If my console was flagged for a ban could I still download DLC should I actually be banned? Also is it the profile that gets banned or the console or both?

Thank you for any answers you can give.

    Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar admin says:

Bans are done against the Console ID, and prevent any LIVE-connectivity. On a banned box, you will not be able to connect to LIVE to download DLC nor any other content or games. Profile suspensions are done for other reasons, ranging from profile/account tampering to early play on LIVE. It's extremely unlikely that one would end up in the situation of having both a profile suspension and a ban, but it could happen in a somewhat "perfect storm" type scenario.

    Hello all,
Could you claer something up for me please (and maybe others), So is it possible to play games that were burned before LT3.0 comes out on an xbox 360 that has updated to the new dash update or new LT3.0 firmware flash?
So in other words, can we play the older games originals or backups that we played before, on all these new updates or updated firmwares that are due to be released?

Sorry for sounding a bit dumb, but, i really need to know if my older games like fifa 12, fight night champion, pro evo 12 and Gears of war 1,2,3 will still play, even though i am going to update to LT3.0 on my sammy and my ben-q drives on both my 360's.

Hope someone can give me the truth and instead of insulting others with abuse and disliking comments for no apparent reason/s. I thought this was a modding/ xbox 360 community, where people help eachother and provide information and advice to others in need? Not some immature and small minded idiots who have nothing better to do than insult others and cannot give a toss who they hurt etc, where is the love people?
Time to man up and grow a pair. this is C4EVA's website forum, time to show some bloody RESPECT! without him, you are all Fu**ed and you know it. C4Eva keep up the great work and i cannot wait until LT3.0 and ABGX 1.06 is released. bring it on! m$ will never stop the king of mods! Peace!

Sure you can play your older games on new firmware. Your sammy drive does not require lt 3.0 only the benq drive will when it is released. It is advised that you do not connect to xbox live until more is known about the new dashboard update.

you should always check the disc quality and run it through abgx…2 more seconds of checking prevents possible errors being booted on your console. just do it anyway and be as safe as possible. new abgx console to come out after fw is released usually

      Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar Anonymous says:

You'll still need to verify through kprobe. Kprobe checks the quality of the burn, not whether the data is 'safe' or not. You need both 'safe' data AND a disc that can be read by your Xbox and pass the CIV checks.

Well it's the penultimate day people! Waiting in anticipation now, I'd love to be able to get the new firmware on my brother and sons xbox for Christmas and get my burning on the go with the new ABGX and my IHAS Burner. What an exciting scene this is, only been a part of it for the last few weeks but it's brilliant, all thanks to C4eva and his team!

Roll on Christmas, I'm very excited to see their faces on Christmas day – especially as I told them I can't flash their drives now as we are waiting on firmware until the new year (of course this could still be true but fingers crossed!)

    Just a quick question….
I already have my hands on my brothers spare xbox for flashing but my sons is still connected to the internet and therefore will receive the new dash update tomorrow, is it safe to allow the dash update or should we wait until C4eva says it's safe to update? Many Thanks.

It's always good practice to wait for the team to analyze it and give a green light before updating. It's happened many times in the past where people blindly rush into updating without realizing there are new things under the hood that affect them. That being said, we don't anticipate there being much different from the current preview build, but we'll know for certain tomorrow.

Might be missing the point here but also, isn't LT3.0 still a risk for use without the updated abgx? As we've found out, MS can update the dae.bin whenever it likes. So that means all titles are at risk for AP2.5 checks, meaning ALL titles will need to be patched with the new topology data from the new abgx and reburned, doesn't it?

Or should I update dashboard to any other version? What is the dashboard recommendation for LT2.0 FW on Hitachi? mainly for XGD2 compatibility since I'm not using an ihas burner.

    • avatar DarkChild says:

Newer games require newer dashboardversions, you cant do anything about that.
A game like Fifa 12 (which is XGD2) still requires dash 2.0.13599.0 to play.
So unless you never play a newer XGD2 or XGD3 again, that dash is what you need.
(you can install dashboards using the official MS/XBox website and usb (pen)drive)

Now that the new dashboard has been released by M$, which in my opinion has some pretty good technology on there now, I like the idea of voice activated menu's, Not so sure of all those apps and video's that you can get though, as most people probably already have them on their phones or on their media players at home already! I know i do. Anyways, now that the dashboard has been released, what now? will we see the new finished products known as ABGX 1.06 and LT3.0 available to download sometime today???? Or will we have to wait just a little bit longer????
I am not going to update my 360 until i know everything is safe and no hidden agenda's by M$ in there.
I am very certain that C4eva and his team will be covering every angle though, to make sure everything is completely safe and secure for us all.

If anybody knows any more details of dashboard update or anything about ABGX 1.06 & LT3.0 then feel free to post information asap. The more details, the better!!!!

Thankyou C4eva and everyone who helps this community, the anticipation for ABGX 1.06 and LT3.0 is so immense right now. I simply cannot wait!!!!

How does everyone feel about it all????

Is it true that i will have to buy another ben-q drive for my 360 to play these ap2.5 and XGD3 games on it? as i have my 360 with a sammy spoofed as a ben-q with the ben-q key on there and LT2.01 sammy FW on, because my original ben-q drive broke. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or does anybody know which drive is best for the 360 (phat models) I have heard that Ben-Q and the 78-79 drives are best for the newer games that are being released as they support the new XGD3 and AP's (AP2.5 etc) is this all true or do you suggest differently? Help is needed and i will need to buy a new drive if this is the case.

    Many thanks.

just a reminder: don't expect to see LT 3.0 today, just because c4e said "after" the dash update. he never said "directly after." not sure the exact situation with spoofing, but i know i have a liteon xbox with a benq drive in it. it's not "spoofed" since jungleflasher doesn't do that in the newer versions and in manual spoofing there is only liteon 7, 8, and 9, which is outdated now. but it still boots xgd3 games just fine. not sure whether this is something that could get you "flagged" or banned, as my friend always stays offline. if you use a non-ap2.5 drive in an ap2.5 xbox it will fail to boot of course.
