The main purpose for using KProbe and the guidelines are to prevent CIV check failures. You’re game(s) with high spikes may play, but have a higher probability that when the Xbox asks the disc for a CIV, it will fail the check and boot you back to the dashboard. High results don’t necessarily mean the disc won’t play at all, KProbe testing was meant to help prevent CIV failures since with the Burner MAX firmware we are burning to the very edge (and generally never used, therefore less reliable) of each disc.

To answer the AP25 and your ability to play new XGD3 games that come out; it will depend on whether or not your specific Hitachi performs AP25 checks at all. My drive, for example, does NOT perform the checks (79FL 4b00), and therefore it doesn’t look for any AP25 or topology data and will boot just about anything. I would determine if your drive actually performs AP25 checks before I got anxious awaiting Lt+ 3.0 — I know my tests and what I have shared in the past on how to test your drive safely (ie. to avoid a flag if that’s a concern) has encouraged others to do the same thing and low-and-behold: ~95% of their drives, like mine, did not perform the checks and are probably playing right now =)

Hope that helps any confusion m8 =)
