I just got through installing a TX PCB in my LiteOn 9405/0272 drive and flashing LT+2.0 (D:2.0.13604.0), flashed my BenQ 0800 to version 3, and flashed my PC DVD drive with Burner Max firmware.

My box has not been on Live since I bought it and I haven’t rip’d or burnt any games using any of my newly flashed drives. I would like to plan to go on Live in the near future. I used CDs to do my dashboard updates.

My question is:
Will the BenQ 0800 v3 rip the entire game contents, with all AP 2.5 & XDG3 challenges that are on the disk, and Burner Max PC drive burn the entire contents of the game to DVD, thereby making an EXACT duplicate of the original? If so, will playing these burns after the ‘silent update’ get me flagged/banned?

you say you haven’t been online yet, good! stay offline for now.

the 0800 for benq will rip all the important data from the disc, and the burner max firmware will burn it all. as long as you have good quality discs, then there should be no problem playing them.

if you go online and get the silent update, they will no longer work. the reason is because the update changes your dae.bin which is the file that determines which ap2.5 challenges to use. that is the reason you need to have the dae.bin file in your xbox backup creator folder. since everyone’s dae.bin is different after the silent update, there is no way other than extracting your own dae.bin (semi-complicated process) and even that may not work as they have said the new dae.bins are different in a way that may make them incompatible with the current xbc.

read through the entire http://bit.ly/ap25faq and you will understand why a burned disc (that uses dyes) is different than a retail disc (which is stamped with little holes.) a burned disc will never be an EXACT duplicate physically, but it will contain all the data needed exactly as it is on the original disc. until the xbox expects to find different data on the disc of course.

so yes, if you rip a disc using the ‘current’ (not really anymore) version of the dae.bin, and try to boot it AFTER the silent update it will fail and get you flagged because the challenges ripped by xbc will not match what the xbox wants. original discs have the info stored physically and will always have what the xbox wants.

Thanks QuickMyThril for the fast and accurate response!

I clicked on the link you provided, and read up on it, just wondering if I should invest in a NAND-X, Quick Solder Board, and possibly a CoolRunner add-on board and the associated cables (I already have the CK3pro rev D) so that I can dump my NAND and extract dae.bin file to put into XBC. It’s probably too early to tell if the ‘silent updates’ will continue in the future and how to know which dae.bin file is needed in XBC burn or play a back-up without getting banned. I guess for now, I should just stay away from Live and see what happens next.
