Hi everyone that views this,

I am slightly confused on how to mod the Hitachi 78/79 drives with the new 3.0 as all it says it to hit Control + F8 to free flash. When I tried that I think I bricked my drive…. JF can no longer see it and i have tried a 100 times. Any help out there???

Thanks

I would like to know as well. Two days ago a posted a question regarding this but no answer yet.. and I know hundreds of people have already flashed by now.

I’ve done the stock to LT2.0 flashes but this ctrl -f8 is throwing me off because it doesn’t prompt any message that it’s in that mode, and when do we press the key combo… at opening interface of jf ?
I was going to try this tonight but now hesitant to wait for youtube vids or updated tutorial/JF.

The first thing I was going to do was flash to stock, update via usb, then attempt LT3.

Anyone have a clear procedure with the ctrl-f8, or do we just assume it’s activated pressing once at jf startup and follow through LT flash like 2.0? thx

hmm… instructions state update from LT2.0 to 3.0 ?? So flash stock, update 2.0, then 3.0 after pressing ctrl f8 once jf starts?

C4E’s Hitachi iXtreme LT+ 3.0 in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter
—————————————————————————-

- Official release of the iXtreme LT+ v3.0 for Hitachi 78 and 79 drives
- Support for topology data on AP25 enabled titles. Will correctly answer any ap25 challenge eliminating need for dae.bin to create a backup.
- No need to make new backups everytime dae.bin is updated on console
Use current JF to upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0 (3.0 as Target firmware) using free flash (Ctrl F8) until an updated version of Jungleflasher is released.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. LT Ultimate & The LT Ultimate PCB is next!

Thanks go to Team Jungle and all testers for their hard work and efforts in the development process.
Thanks also go to Team Xecuter for their support to this project.

got it.. 3rd post down in thread. Cleared up a lot of confusion, and i recognize the ctrl-f8 procedure now.

just curious, did you go from stock to lt3? or do as it stated 2.0 to 3.
I ask because i haven’t had my xbox on in 7 months, so it needs the update via usb and perfer method is update on stock.
Just not sure why it states updates 2.0 to 3 without reverting

K.. things were going good at first but now I’m stuck and can’t get LT 2.0 back flashed over stock.
My dash was originally 13604
Flashed the LT 2.0 to stock.. good
Tested original game and played good, backup fail as intended xgd2
updated via usb to 16202. Plugged in XBL if any other updates popped up..nothing
Then stuck at trying to flash LT 2.0 back on.. it’s giving me ram upload errors and jf not responding
Put drive back in xbox.. originals still playing fine, so it’s functioning.
Been at this last 4 hours and bedtime.. any idea what’s going on?
Possible update now keeps from flashing? idk… The drive maintained in b-mode after each JF start because it took 2 ejects to open or close. I’m not sure if this is suppose to happen since all tutorials show b-mode unlock step. Drive was detected each startup. The benq was cake.. and i had no probs get LT 2.0 on this drive before.

I think I am Free Flashing right but it just doesn’t work for me. When I target the firmware JF says its LT+2.0. After I flash the drive and put an XGD3 game in it does nothing it recognizes that it is a game but I cannot see what game or anything. I can play XGD2 games perfectly fine.

Can someone please give a detailed step by step on how to do this please.

I am sorry for all the problems you are as Novak2k6 and I are having ther same. I do know that JF will say that its 2.0 but its ok because JF hasnt been updated yet to read it as 3.0. Just make sure you are selecting the right version to match your drive. But for this being a forum no one with the knowledge of how to do this has lifted a finger yet….. As soon as one of us figure it out we will let the world know, but until then let us know about your findings.

Novak2k6:

I wouldn’t bother going back to stock and I would also make sure that you have the newest update as well. Then try flashing it.
