Hello. I’m trying to connect liteon ihas124 b to my hp probook 4520s. By default dvd drive sets to AHIC or sotmething mode, but when i try to set mode to IDE, i get blue screen shortly after starting to boot windows. Ideas ?

Start regedit

First find key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci
Select “Start” and change value to “0″ if it isn’t.

Then find key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\pciide
Select “Start” and change value to “0″ if it isn’t.

Close regedit and restart computer, change to ide in bios and it should boot.
