I have a boxed Halo edition 360 I never opened. Since my Benq is dying and still waiting for LT3 on my LG, I want to use my Halo system to go on XBL and play all my retail games online, and just swap my hard drive with profile between modded and unmodded. I think the Halo might have an LG in it also.

So if I was to update to latest dash online, can the system still be modded or will the drive lock? I read somewhere update 2.0.13146.0 had moved key, and some other update deleted them.

Or should I open it up, extract key data, and then go on XBL to use as retail for now?

thx
