Ok,

I always seem to read that people say to use the Verbatim brand bland dvd+r dL. This isn’t true for me. Since I’ve been making back ups I have never had a problem using any store brand dvd+r dl. Currently I use the Kodak brand. I burn at 4x and never have trouble with them. The only thing I do have trouble with is using the burned disks on an xbox with an old dvd laser in it. The solution for me is to change out the laser with a newer one. So maybe the better brand dvd+r dl don’t require that you have a good working laser, but I’d rather change out my laser like I have and save on buying dvd’s

Requirements:
-Verbatim Dual Layer DVD+R DL Compatible only at this time

Looks like we’ll ALL be going with Verbs from now on. I buy Verbatim because they are reliable, recommended and don’t cost any more than other brands. I’ve used a other media and haven’t had any problems using them as backups either, but I do find other brands to have a higher failure rate.

so then my back up I made today is not 100%?? I can play the game, but will it trigger a possible ban since it’s not 100%?

oh yeah and where I live the Verbatim brand is allot more expensive then other brands. A spindle of 50 is 50 bucks compared to 20 for a lower end brand.

They took the best and reliable brand, that’s normal bro. What should they do ? Take a cheap poor quality brand ? I don’t think so.

Verbatim is the best for X360 burning, since the beginning, 1$ DVD+R DL isn’t the end of the world IMO.

If it’s too expensive for you, just dont burn backups…

well my question is it just don’t have to be that brand, it can be any as long as you burn it right. If I gotz to use the Verbatim brand then I guess I just will. But right now R.A.G.E. is working fine on my cheep Kodak 40 cent dvd + r dl :D

I understand, I also use sometimes cheaps Intenso DL, but burning 8,7 GB on a 8,5 GB disk is a real challenge. You need a very high quality media in this case.

i have a feeling other brands might work, verbatim is just known to be best quality. i’ve used sony, fujifilm, and even memorex discs and never really had any problems. the only issue is the same as thugz said, i could never get my samsung drives to read memorex. also when drive lasers start to go bad, they stop reading memorex but sometimes still read originals and verbatim, but still the laser needs replaced anyway. i am certainly going to be one person who gives the 8.7 GB test to the memorex because that is all they sell around here. i was pretty mad when target stopped carrying sony discs, but the next target over still has them. i don’t see why they discontinued when i was buying them steadily.
