I’m considering swapping my main system over to an itx setup and the case I was going to use only takes a slimline drive, I have a LG external 5.25″ dvdrw and I was just wondering if I was to swap the drive with my liteon 124b with iXtreme Burner MAX firmware on would it work ok over usb?

yes you can ! but the drive must be flashed with the LT. Max FW over SATA to work Properly . After you do that its no problem to use the drive in a USB caddy . I tried it and it works . Flashed a Drive for a friend to use it with a Notebook .

I flashed my 124b over USB to SATA Adapter Cable, and worked fine.
