i don’t usually keep isos on my hard drive due to large file size. once i burn it i delete the file, but i haven’t been deleting the xgd3 isos because if i have to reburn them when the dash update hits, i’ll already have the full iso on file. usually i would just rerip the burned disc with imgburn, patch with abgx and burn it again, however the discs i have burned are missing a small percentage of the data. so i found a program called PatchOnClick, it’s freeware. i made a patch so that i could save the data the gets cut off of the 8.5 GB disc. that way if i ever have to update and reburn the games i can just rip the disc and patch the last couple hundred MB back onto the iso. i doubt abgx is going to auto patch the truncated data when they update it, so i figured this is something many people might need. once i have the patches all done i’ll let you know where they can be found if needed.

Huh, that sounds like a lot of trouble when you could just as easily rip the original again right?

true but that’s more wear and tear on the originals :)

it’s easy since the iso is already on my computer, i burn it 97%, and the disc is already in the drive, so i just rip the 97% iso and then put them thru the patch maker

@QuickMythril, if it’s not too lengthy, could you say how to make a patch. I went and got PatchOnClick but not sure of process. You say you make patch then add later. I know I’m taking advantage of your expertise but I have learned a lot.
Again please don’t feel I will be insulted /upset if the process is one of the things too long to post.
Thanks.

basically i have the full size iso and the truncated iso. i click “make a patch”, choose the small iso first, then the big one, then just choose where you want the patch file to be saved. it takes a little while because it has to make a hash file of the first iso, then compare it to the second, creating a 145 mb file of the missing data as it goes. for some reason it stays at a small size like 256 kb or something for a while, then after the loading bar is full it starts adding megabytes at a time.

now if they make the dash update and you need to reburn your disc, just use imgburn to make another truncated iso from the old disc, click on “patch a file”, choose the small iso and choose the patch. this will create another iso that was exactly how it was before you burned it the first time. that way you can run it thru abgx and update the ap2.5 ss, and burn it again. hopefully sometime we will have larger discs.
