Hi all
Was just wondering i went out and bought a Lite-on iHAS524 B, and opened it up to see if it had the MTK chipset, after closely inspecting it I could not tell what chipset it was using, I know all B drives are supposed to have the MTK chipset but wanted to know how u can tell what chipset it is using coz i wanna check if my older burner has this chipset as well.

The chip should have MT1839LN on it somewhere if is B version. From my understanding all B versions use the same chip.

Thanks whompus60, I found the MT1839LN chip, it was on the other side of the board.
