Hey guys I had a quick question….I have an xbox 360 slim that has not been modded but I do want to get it modded, however, the manufacture date says 2010-09-01 on the back and I think its a lite-on. I updated my slim to the newest dash update that is currently out….is there anyway that I can still get it modded? I’ve read a little bit on the issue if you updated it to the new dash M$ “masks” your drive when you connect it to jungle flasher. I would appreciate it if someone can get back to me on this….

Thanks!

you need to find out what kind of drive you have. even if it is a 16D4S, you need to find out whether it is winbond or mcix. you’d have to open up the drive or connect it to jungleflasher to determine that.

Weird….after I said no to the slim unlock it gave me the key, inquiry etc…..is this my original key or do I still have to do the MXIC sputnik unlock method? It asked me if I wanted to load the latest slim ixtreme after it read all the keys etc….????

MXIC is macronix, so at least you don’t have to worry about the kamikaze hack. yeah you can dump the firmware, but you need to unlock the spi, which will allow you to write to the drive. did it save you a file called dummy.bin? that is what you need. for other drives you can just save the key, but the slims need the whole firmware. the dummy contains all the information about that drive. it always will offer to load the latest firmware. to unlock you just need to make a cut next to the little red box in this picture and then connect the resistor at the points shown. http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67810 they talk about using other programs to send the spi unlock to slims drives in some tutorials, but now jungleflasher has a button for that itself. it is the button in the bottom right corner that says 0x8C (when locked) and it will become 0×00 when unlocked. you press it again after writing the firmware to lock your drive back. you will also need to repair the cut in the board you made when you are done.

Thanks for the response again myth, yes it did give me the dummy. I saved everything it got from the drive. I guess I will have someone do the unlocking part since I’m only a beginner when it comes to cutting traces and soldering. I don’t even know how to repair the cut after I make it lol. Thanks for all your help!
