hey i recently got a new 360 because my old falcon died unexpectedly and i got a corona with 1175 drive in it. this is not a question on when will lt 3.0 be released for the drive its a question about swapping the drive with my old light-on 7 series that has lt3.0 on it. the drive is in good condition and would fit in the slim with a bit of dremmel work (ive seen it done with a benq) but would it be live safe if i copied the dvd key from my new box to the old drive? i still need this box to get online

definitely not live safe. (who knows if they would detect and ban you though, it’s up to you to take that risk or not.) i remember reading something that makes me think it might not even work at all. here’s what i found when i searched “slim real time firmware checks”. pretty sure if it checks the fw it will be able to tell it’s not the correct drive.

c4eva: new dash at some point checks slim drive fw, once it has spoof will cease to work
*****: for slim what kind of real time checks are we talking about?
c4eva: realtime fw check, realtime ram check!
c4eva: they are checking for our code/data in drive!

but if i install the lt 3.0 on say an unlock pcb from xecuter would it be live safe?

yeah because that pcb is designed to replicate an original board and the firmware is designed to be indistinguishable from regular fw

actually i thought you were just asking whether the “unlocked pcb” was live safe in general, since it’s not original hardware. it would not be live safe to use any DG-16D4S board, whether made by TX or Microsoft, in an xbox that originally had a DG-16D5S drive. they would have to make a different unlocked pcb for that. it is a different drive model.
