i just flashed a Toshiba Samsung m25. It works fine with my skyrim
, fallout 3, mw2, but it will not read mw3 at all. It doesnt even show that there is a disk in the drive. Ive tried two copies. One burnt at 8x and one burnt a 4x, still no luck. Im using Maxwell do disks which ive always used. I have another Xbox with the exact same drive and it reads the same disk fine. Could it be the laser? Why does it read the other games fine?

you probably should not really be burning xgd3 discs at 8x. they are much more susceptible to errors than xgd2 games. so from what i understand it says “open tray” as if there is no disc at all? fallout 3 and mw2 are xgd2 and your drive would have an easier time with those. maybe you just got lucky with skyrim. i highly suggest using verbatim brand discs. even if they cost more money, you’ll throw away less discs. another thing you could try is using a program called Media Code Speed Edit to modify the firmware on your burner to allow those Maxwell discs to burn at 2.4x. the only other things i can think of are to increase your laser strength or just clean it. there are many articles on adjusting the potentiometer in your drive.

I found out the problem was my mw3 iso, it somehow got corrupted. I made a new backup, stealthed it and burned it at 4x. I now have a working copy of MW3 ! so happpppppyyyy.
