Yes the benq vad6038 or any of the phat liteon variations from an xbox will work well. The 0800 firmware can be found at the usual places and there’s a great tutorial at team xecuters site. Same as flashing a regular drive but instead of injecting the lt 2.0 firmware you’ll choose the appropriate 0800 firmware through JF.

“what does c4eva mean by you have to enable opc in imgburn”

OPC is optimum power calibration. When it’s enabled, your drive will do a test before it burns a disc to determine the best laser strength to use. Enabling OPC is required if you want to burn Verbatim MKM-003-00 discs at 4X with the new Burner Max firmware.

To enable it in ImgBurn, start it up and go to Tools – Settings… – Write (tab) and place a check mark next to “Perform OPC Before Write” then hit OK.

“Also how would i hook it up to my pc would i need anything special”

The drive connects via SATA, but because it also uses a strange connection to power it many people use a CK3 Connectivity Kit (the Lite model will do).

Thank you but for the xbox drive i won’t be able to use it as i ruined it, Jungleflasher made it somehow not open or shut or the laser isnt working or something after i erased something but oh well, Anyways aboutthe opc so what if i was to use the 2.4x verbatim im not sure what verbatim i got but i know the speed on it says 2.4x so will i still need to turn opc on,

tonymarco134 is the 360 drive a liteon, if so you probably bricked it if it wont eject, you can unbrick it.

“Anyways aboutthe opc so what if i was to use the 2.4x verbatim im not sure what verbatim i got but i know the speed on it says 2.4x so will i still need to turn opc on,”

The easy way to tell which discs you’ve got is this: -

2.4X rated (says 2.4X on the packaging) = MKM-001-00
8X rated (says 8X on the packaging) = MKM-003-00

The 001 discs can only be burned at 2.4X with Burner Max.

The 003 discs can be burned at 2.4X or 4X with Burner Max, but c4eva has recommended that you turn OPC on if you want to burn the discs at 4X as it will help ensure that the burn is good.

As for whether to use OPC in general with all burns, it really depends on the burner you’re using, the firmware installed on that burner, and the media you’re using. The only way to know for sure is to burn a disc with OPC on, then burn another disc of the same type with OPC off and do some disc scans to compare the burn quality.

So, in your case, you have MKM-001-00 discs as the rated speed is listed at 2.4X, so you can only burn them at 2.4X with Burner Max and turning on OPC is not required. If you don’t mind potentially wasting a disc or two, you could burn a game with OPC off, then burn the same game with OPC and as long as both burns complete OK and verify 100%, you could compare the discs using Opti Drive Control (or a similar app) to see what effect OPC has on the burn quality. If you’re not bothered about any of that, just leave OPC off unless you have an issue getting discs to burn and verify.

Hope that answers your question.

Yes you have answered my question, Is the layer break going to change i heard once the new firmware is out for the lite on b drive, Thanks for all your help and also i probably did brick my dvd drive but it was a phillips benq and i couldn’t figure out how to get it to work again so i was unplugging things on my dvd drive and plugging it back in but one of them ripped so i threw it away but just curious if it did brick would that mean that the laser wouldn’t turn on also if so i might try to learn how to unbrick for future purposes
