Does anyone know how I should burn these, as MKM 001 or 003?

They are made in Singapore and advertised speed is 2x-4x.
I’m using a lite-on 224 burner with Burner Max fw.

According to Media Code Speed Edit these discs support burning at 4x, 6x, and 8x. Should I change them to a disc type that is capable of burning at 2.4x and burn with opc off? or just burn at 4x with opc on?

if you are comfortable with 4x i’d say go for it, but if you start having problems, switch down to 2.4x. personally i burn any xgd3 at 2.4x with opc on regardless of disc, but that’s just me…

i’ve probably done about 20 games or more on the Optical Quantum discs (RICOHJPN-D01-067) and only had trouble with 2 of them. one failed install at 44% each time, so i tossed it. the other installed on the 3rd or 4th try, and then i tried again and it failed so i tossed that too. i haven’t been verifying with imgburn or checking the quality with kprobe… i figure if it loads up on the xbox and installs all the way then it should be good. the only one that installs smaller than the full size is Skyrim which goes to 3.6 GB, so potentially there could be errors on the part of the disc that doesn’t install…

Thanks for the reply but I guess these discs aren’t compatible with the burner max fw. No matter if I try 2.4 or 4x it asks if I want to overburn or truncate. I found a couple MKM 001 blanks and it looks like its burning ok, at least it didnt ask to overburn or truncate so i’m hoping it will work.

I tried using that Media code speed app but it wouldn’t let me change MKM 01RD30 to MKM 001 so I guess I have no choice but to go pick up more MKM 001′s. If anyone has any solutions please post, I’d really like to use these 01RD30′s.

I think the problem you are having is those 01RD30′s are -R DL not +R DL disk’s.
