hi ive always had trouble getting verbatim disks to run on my hitachi 47 drive ,they might work one of of every 50 trys,so ive been using maxell dl disks which run everytime so my question is can i keep using them with my ihas burner just for the hitachi drive ,ive always found them to be the best disks i could buy ,and very rarley get a bad disk with them

Yes you can use them. Will they pass the Kprobe test? Doubtful. It sounds like you need a new burner or more likely a new hitachi laser or at min a laser pot adjustment.

even with a brand new laser in the hitachi its allways had trouble reading verbatim disk,maxell disk seem a lot easier on the drive

So long as when you burn them and the layer break can be written in the correct place then any branded DL Disks are good enough! The only ones i’ve come across that can’t because they physically lack the area to be written to are the AOne golds. So if the maxell disks work for you then there’s no problem.
