i know it’s free, but even the free thing we made for other deserves some respect, so c4eva speak about hitachi, say something, you made burner max, you made samsung 2.01 and hitachi is still waiting, will you be able to fuc**** make new drive DG-16D5S before hitachi?, that will be a kick in our balls.

goyik:
I was thinking, pessimistically, that the “NEW DRIVE” will see 2.0 before Hitachi does but I didn’t want to jinx us by saying it..but I agree, that would be a major low blow if the (yet another) Lite-On got 2.0 before the ORIGINAL XBOX360 DRIVE.

Sure, Hitachi’s are generally pretty old, my box was manf. 6-16-2006, but it’s still playing just fine. Maybe a little loud (what Hitachi wasn’t a little loud? lol) but reads anything I throw at it.

And to those of you without a Hitachi, who come to a Hitachi thread just to tell us to “get a different drive! durharr!!” yea nothx.

Sorry Leito =( From what I’ve heard, 0500 isn’t even being looked at for some reason. I wish someone could give us a sensible explanation behind why Hitachi in general gets shunned as bad as they do.

The ONLY post I saw in the comments section a day or two ago was that c4 doesn’t do the Hitachi, it’s someone else..but there was nothing to support the statement so who knows =/

hi there…

well, some introductions. i’m actually on this board for like 2 weeks, but i’ve watched progress and read many posts with much anticipation.

firstly, thank you c4eva, should you read this, because nothing of the things you do here is part of your natural duties. i’m not here to crawl up anyone’s a**, but as many many before have said this, which doesn’t affect the statement’s truth, so do i. because i mean it.

having said this, i have been following this very thread with much attention, checking in on this site like every 5 minutes. true, i own a hitachi drive and i also am waiting for c4eva’s progress as regards 2.0, but less because it is imperative for me to play games like forza 4, gow3, batman AC or bf3, but because i enjoy taking apart my pc and my 360, messing with the shit the developers don’t want us to do – because i think it’s good sport.

so, i was also asking myself when the day will come where all the hitachi owners would take their boxes apart and flash the shit outta their drives in order to enjoy games. but, as none of us have any RIGHT to ask for something that someone is doing for the community as a favour, we should rather stop whining and just wait and see what happens. noone wants to be last or left behind, but it could have been ANY drive to be worked on last… so what?

maybe c4eva has decided to work on the hitachis last because he enjoys it the most, maybe because they are trickier, maybe it happened by simple chance. no one knows except him.

but anyways, i just hope to read about changes in these matters soon and would of course also appreciate some kind of E.T.A.

anyways, c4eva has done more than any of us could have asked for
sincerely, thanks and keep up the good work

and to the fellow waiting crowd – hang in there ! :)

All the same you know absolutely nothing about me so no need to go out on all this “i know more than you…insert swear word here there” dick grabbin, internet thuggery. Anyway, my bad for putting your name to the last post, respects.

I can’t compile a firmware so whatever But it gets kind of annoying being told I need to upgrade. Personally I don’t think it’s an upgrade to have to buy miscellaneous accessories to have to flash my drive. Actually I really like my hitachi. Slide off the case, hook up a sata, flash and play. Easy as that. Now how this has been labeled an inferior drive is beyond me. I understand working on hitachi last when developing 2.0 for all the drives. But really, forza? 2.01? PC fw? Are more people really waiting on these than the hitachis. It seems like any little bs problem that crops up takes priority over the hitachis. It’s a mistake, that’s all I’ll say.

So apparently jermzhi was telling ME to calm myself and just wait because I’m not paying for it and others are so I get it for free..lol That response doesn’t exactly make sense to what I have posted on this thread. Do you even read my full post(s)?

I made one statement about an announcement that “rubbed me the wrong way,” and you come on here preaching to me as if I’ve done nothing but piss & moan and complain on this thread. Yea, oookay m8, my apologies if you somehow interpreted my post as outraged even though there was no caps or exclamation marks =)

Jester:
I hear ya m8, it does seem like any and every little problem for all the other drives takes immediate top priority. I realize Hitachi’s have always come last when getting new FW, but this time it seems like if it’s “on the to do list” as c4 said, it’s waaayy down at the bottom and really labeled “eventually we’ll get to it”

Ah well…can’t do much but wait =/

I’m starting to believe that c4eva (or whoever actually does the actual coding) simply CAN’T make one for Hitachi! Maybe it’s too hard! I just wish they would admit it!
