Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does truncated XGD3 mean?

I’m still very new with backups and I have seen the word truncated passed around and I have no idea what this means.

Is this a style of burning backups?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is the first available method for burning XGD3 games, consists in burning only the 97%-98% of the game into a normal DL DVD-R, the final 3% of the DVD data is discarded because it appeared to be not usefull for sucessfully playing the game. This method was quickly defeated by M$ antipiracy efforts with the Forza 4 game, which actually needed the discarded 3% of the data to perform AP 2.5 checks in this data area. No other games until now are known to use the Forza 4 AP 2.5 checks method, but its not discarded that future games will do the same thing to avoid piracy.
Because of this, C4evas gave birth to a new method by burning 100% of the game data into normal DL DVD-R, this new method needs a dvd burner (LITE-On IHAS x24b) or others compatible with BurnerMax firmware, wich used alongside LT+ 2.0 FW can successfully play XGD3 games (and also old XGD2) on almost any XBOX 360.
