Ok now let me beginning by saying that I have verified ALL my equipment I’ve done verifications till…… well lets just say EVERYTHING has been verified. The problem is that once I burn a game properly, It shows up fine it will even go to play then 99% of the time it will come up with an unsupported disc error. Now I’ve tried it on several machines and still all the same luck, I’ve tried diffrent downloads from different sites and different sources and still the same luck and this has spanned over several ISO’s, Now I’ve never had this happen before still using same equip and same settings. I’m at my wits end because I just cannot see the problem. Has anyone come across this problem???? (Prototype 2, Dance Central 2, Street Fighter X Tekken, and Fighters Uncaged)

You’re not alone mate. I can’t get anything new to work anymore. Older XGD3 rips I had problems with (MW3 and Sonic Generations for example) I managed to fix with the manual Title Update fix. More recently I can’t get shit to work at all. iHAS burner is fine (as older XGD3 games have been burn with it and are fine!) – no problem with dash (again, MW3 works fine after updating dash) and I can’t see it being the discs as they are from the same spindle of Verbs as the MW3 burn. agbx360 finds no issue with either the files or the burnt disc and the discs have verified 100% in IMGBurn.

That’s odd what speed are you burning them at? 90% of the time when I burn anything above 2.4x it does exactly what you are talking about. I have all those roms you put as an example and although I have no clue what source you got them from.. They all work fine for me. I am sure someone will come on saying you need to use verbs. Verbs do work best I will give them that. However I am using cheap media (Windata and Memorex) for all the games you are having issues with and they are working fine for me again as long as I burn at 2.4x.. Also I am not sure if this matters but, before I burn using burnermax I open EEPROM hit the CLEAR MEDIA LEARN button on first page then hit options tab and press the CLEAR OPC HISTORY button. Again not sure if that really matters but, back when this first came about someone had suggested to do those before every new xgd3 burn and I have just made it a habit to do so.

Thanks for the reply Ucla. I can’t understand how it could be the burnermax if I’m getting 100% verified burns with my settings, but at this stage I’m up for trying anything !
Thanks again – I hope this turns out to be the problem……..

Thanks for the responses so far………..I tried clearing the eeprom and the OPC then tried to burn Prototype 2 with no success it goes to load and in the right lower hand side it says Prototype 2 acts like its loading then just hangs same for Dance Central 2 it loads it will even play a dance or two then says unsupported disc.. really this is almost bad enough to just want to quit all together…Im tired of making coasters lol

It could always be a bad source file. It the rip is messed up then there really isn’t anything you can do. It will still verify because all its doing is checking against the source you provided so if it’s bad it wont show that.Maybe try grabbing it from a different release group and see if you have better luck. Personally I only grab from groups I have used many times before and stay away from unknowns. I have yet to have a bad source rip so maybe I’m just lucky and picky.

I don’t understand how MP3 is working for everyone else, but not for me. I don’t believe it’s the rip as others have downloaded the same rip as me and all is well. Is there somewhere I can find DEFINITIVE WORKING settings for burning XGD3 games (ie settings for OHT and Force HT and OPC etc etc) that actually work ?
I am using 003 VERBS, I have tried MP3 at 2.4x and 4x, with and without OPC enabled.
I am at the end of my tether and like the OP will be giving up shortly. This is just TOO frustrating…….
