I bought a 30pk of the MK003s… Some games will work with 1 burn.. others may take a few tries. I usually power cycle the PC before any burn so each burn is the same process. Just wondering why some work and some don’t. if the other Verbs are better and more reliable, it would be worth it to spend the extra time/cash to seek them out.,

quantum fluctuations in the fabric of reality cause ripples across a spinning disc. 1 out of every 1 trillion neutrinos that would normally pass through all normal matter on earth will covert themselves into energy inside the drive which causes the laser to burn a microscopic hole all the way thru the foil of the disc and when the xbox tries to read it back it fails as there is no reflective surface at that bit of data.

nah just kidding. have you tried using mcse to burn them at 2.4x? i have heard that 003s are better at 4x. somehow due to the physics of the disc spinning at certain rates, they decided that was preferred, but i still have the personal feeling that slower is always safer and less likely to get errors. also it seems like Optimal Power Calibration would always be…optimal, so i use 2.4x with OPC on for all type of discs. honestly i never ended up getting any 003s, so i can’t say from experience, but i would definitely give that a shot if you are having issues.

it is expected to get some coasters once in a while. even with the highest quality disc, you are still pushing past the boundaries of what they are rated for, so maybe some discs just pass their quality assurance, but are still not good enough to use for xgd3 burns.

I burn on the 003′s at 4 and never had a problem, I have had the odd one if I burn at 2.4 so I’ve just left it on 4 and all installed perfectly well.

Saying that, must get mine flashed to 3.0 at long last.

LOL @ Quick….You really had me to start with. I’ve had hits and misses with a few games. I’ve burned them at eirthre 4x or 2.4 (if the 4x fails). In imgburn the opc is checked, overburn-checked, hypertuning-checked.. all the tweaks. Practically built this OC for this purpose… I7 8core, 8gb ram, 2gb vid, win 7….etc. I know it’s a hit and miss process, but wondering if anyone had similar issues and how ( if they did) they resolved them. I sure miss the old days of just tossing the ISO onto a DL and burning at 8x and calling it a day.
Mclane – Binary Domain is baaad… and not in a good way. Gears rip. The first hour you’ll hate it.. too much talking by the AI and you can’t skip it… Fight for 2 minutes get a 10 minute speech… fight for a few more minutes.. 4 minute conversation…..Had to turn it off 1/2 through 2nd chapter…

Aw crap, I had high hopes for that one, can’t stand speech you can’t skip as well.

My motto is if it moves shoot the shit out of it, I don’t want its life story before that!
