i am guessing it will not flash your dvd drive again. the only reason that happened with the 13599 update is to add support for xgd3 games to the drives. still people have always said you should flash to stock firmware before updating, however i haven’t heard of anyone having problems from updating with LT. most likely you will be fine, unless they are coming out with an xgd4 ;)

@QuickMythril but the person who is going to mod my slim was telling me that the new dashboard (to be release on 15th or 25th of november) was telling me that the update will remove the mod …..by the way i am very thankful to you people for your very early replies …..do u recommend me to mod my slim onto LT+2.0

no one knows what is going to happen with the new dash except microsoft. like i said there was only one time when the dash update reflashed the dvd drives, and that was 13599 for xgd3. it sounds like this person is just trying to squeeze some extra cash from people.

so do you have two xboxes? you said you have 2.0 on your xbox and just modded your slim. does the slim have 1.9 or 2.0? if you already have 2.0 on your xbox then there is no issue. you can play xgd3 games and when the dash update comes we will see what happens. your final question was “do you recommend flashing the slim to 2.0?” so what does it have on it now? i am sort of confused.

if you already have LT 2.0 then i would just enjoy playing for now, and when the update comes, wait until you read what people say about it. again i don’t think that it will remove your mod, but you will know when it happens. there are always people who don’t go back to stock, even though it has always been said to update your dash only with stock firmware.

if you don’t have LT 2.0 yet then i would just wait a few weeks if you are worried about paying twice. if you can’t wait that long to play xgd3 games, then i say just update to LT 2.0, because chances are the dash will not remove your mod.

or your best option is to just buy the equipment needed to mod your own xbox. that way you only pay once, and you will be ready for whatever happens.

like i said i don’t think this update will remove your mod. one thing i heard about: when you do the update make sure your dvd drive is open. when it tries to close, just hold it open because it cannot write to the drive when it is open. so it cannot overwrite your mod.
