maybe you got a bad batch of TDKs?

did you change the setting in imgburn under Tools> Settings> Write. top right it says layer break, you want this to be calculate optimal and it will read the layer break from your dvd file.

It could definitely be down to a bad batch of discs.

I used to have an Optiarc AD-7200S which worked great for a long time, but then I started getting errors like that right before it died and had to be replaced, so it could be an issue with the drive. I would try using different discs before assuming there’s an issue with the drive though.

now that you mention it i started getting errors with my optiarc and i thought it was bad discs, but then i realized it was my drive failing. and now i have a new one – the cheapest one available at walmart which works great. i forgot all about that.
