Xbox 360 Dash Update 2.0.14719.0 Rolling Out

Hot on the heels of the Valentine's Day update just a little over a week ago, Microsoft is now rolling out yet another SystemUpdate, this time bringing the dash/kernel version to 2.0.14719.0. No indication yet as to what changes it brings, but as usual if you're using c4eva's fw, it's recommended that you wait to update until he's had a chance to generate and analyze a set of LIVE Logs with the new dash.

Just came back home and wanted to game a little :( I just came across the update and decided to wait for C4eva's clearing again. sigh…
I hope it doesn't bring any consequences for the modded boxes, like the other update did.

i think this is reset glitch hack fault, microsoft is trying to fix it, the last update fixed it for little time because they found out how to do the reset glitch hack again.
now microsoft hasnt anything to do about the dashboard so i think they're just trying to fix the hack…this is so f**king stupid, having to wait to see if there's anything wrong with the update, waiting 1 or 2 days, and it's my work free days, wish i could relax and play something online but it seems impossible these last weeks, stupid microsoft -.-

LoL this is stupid all of you haters, if hate so much microsux for just protecting his assets then don't buy anything from them. Or simply don;'t hack your console and there you go, you won;t have to wait 2 or 3 days until we r possitve to play safe using live.

Hate those kind of bitches, I'm sure you won;t give anything for free as well…

So please stop this s**t, f**kers. Crying babies.

i dont think u understood what i meant above
what i meant is that microsoft should stop trying 'cause they do these f**king little updates that are so f**king annoying for nothing when after an hour somebody already knows how to patch the update like it happened last time when they tried to stop the RGH, but they only stopped it for half a day or not even that much
and i dont really care if i have to wait a day or two, the problem is these updates are always released on my free days that are only two per week, i have to work all the week more than 8 hours, i get home at midnight tired of a all day work and get some sleep, get up and eat something, prepare myself to go to work again
i live in a country that is full of debts, i work a lot to get a s**t salary that is 500 euros, a game is 70 euros
so yeah i am the thief here, a guy who works honestly and when wants some 3-4 hours of free fun on two days
do you really thing im gonna pay 70 euros for a game? when more than half the price is for the government?
f**k them, i work honestly and just wanna some fun for two days and you tell me to quit crying?
what the hell are you doing here then?
little punk who thinks that is better than the others, everybody who visits this website is looking to play free games. nobody here is a thief, we're just a sharing community. =)

yes we are all thiefs. were stealing games lol. and yes, i am better than you. i dont complain about microsoft making a great console and providing us updates and fixes when im not even helping them pay the expenses for the greatness they bring us. play offline for a day or 2. oh and u should probably get back on your meds

            So you're with SOPA?
            we're all thiefs?
c'mon bitch buying a game, movie or music and then want to share it with the rest of the world is feeding thiefs?
so what should i call governments?
i didnt say i hated microsoft because of the console their made, i never had a playstation, only xbox and nintendo consoles.
second you can be not paying them but i am, i buy exclusives that i like, i pay 1 year xbox live, i buy DLC's, i buy arcade games
so what the hell? how am i not paying s**t to them?
im actually playing offline some old games, but i wanted to have some fun online, i dont even know if u red anything i wrote so i wont answer to u anymore
oh and u should probably get back to your mom's vagina 'cause people like u that only come to the comments to joke around and troll with other people commentarys are faggots who dont understand a s**t, i bet that u didn't know about the laws that SOPA was and is still probably trying to get accepted.
they say we are thieves and every good soul out there who loves internet says that we aren't thieves but a sharing community.
so yeah have a f**king good life while you can 'cause im just reporting u to FBI 'cause u said that you were a thief =)

          70 Euros. Quit your bitching
That's $86 Australian. Im paying roughly $110 for games
5 years ago, it was only $100
Given the fact that our dollar has improved and almost everything else is cheaper, video games have increased in price, which is he complete opposite of what should be happening

and i dont have a job, i do have 2 degrees which makes me over qualified for everything, but no one want to hire me because Im under-experienced. when i did have a job i was making the equivalent of 500 euros. You're paying less money for games…period

MS are clutching at straws now releasing what I presume to be a series of random dashboard updates and then when we lower our guard they'll stick in something problematic, unfortunately I updated as I received the dash update before any comments were posted anywhere (completely my own fault) I will wait from now on. MS are attempting to ware down the masses imp with these random updates, good luck with that MS lol, C4EVA RULES!!!

This update downloaded, rebooted Xbox fat and installed, immediately followed by another update download and reboot and install….
Why the need for two seperate installs; what is each doing? Maybe one writing the dashboard update, second flashing the drive? Who knows.
I know C4EVA and the team have lives outside of the world of Xbox but SO many people are waiting for the analysis of this newer firmware update it is that waiting and not knowing that tempts the lesser willed into making rash decisions and risking bans.
Are there not others who have the know-how to take a brief overlook at the update and can be trusted to at least give some immediate facts regarding what updates are potentially doing while we await official deeper analysis?
It drives everyone mad looking thru thousands of posts quoting rubbish junk entries into wikipedia about what may or may not be the content of each update.

C4EVA can't be the only guy with the ability to look thru an update lol, altho he definately has earnt a very special trust from everyone ;-)

I believe i can see four firmware update flash files in this new update, but i may be wrong…

    FFFE07DF00000002,
    FFFE07DF00000006,
    FFFE07DF00000008.
Some people are claiming that it didn't flash their LT+ firmware but looking at the update i wouldn't be so sure as to make a bold statement like that. I bet some drive types ARE being flashed.
Oh please, someone who knows how to analyse this better and break it down come and take a look!!!

When you update with your Xbox flashed over Internet, your firmware *might* be sent to M$ and you *could* be flagged/more likely banned.

As far as I know, this is just a rumor, someone else could confirm it.

      Reply | Reply with Quote
    • avatar Mike200 says:

Yep, its just a rumor like everything else. Nobody knows anything for sure. If you want to be ULTRA safe then go ahead and revert to stock before reflashing.

All I can say is that I have never reverted to stock in the last 2-3 years and never had an issue.

      Reply | Reply with Quote
      • avatar QuickMythril says:

it's not a RUMOR, it's just a basic fact that is IS POSSIBLE. no one said it was actually happening, but it COULD. think about it… anything jungleflasher can do MS can do. honestly though, they could theoretically do this anytime you were using the console, not just during an systems updates. think "silent update"…

        Reply | Reply with Quote
        • avatar :D says:

That makes no sense. A rumour is something that is made up and not true that is being spread. Wether it's possible or not doesn't make it a rumour.

I don't think that Microsoft would be trying to get rid of older Xboxes. What's the purpose of it? To stop piracy or people playing legal backups? It can be done on the Slim. Do you think Microsoft are going to do it to the Slims aswell. I think they'd have a pretty big lawsuit on their hands if this was the case.

"Microsoft would be trying to get rid of older Xboxes. What's the purpose of it?" so you have to buy a new one… some people will buy new slims rather than cheap used ones so they don't have to worry about RROD anymore. i doubt a case could be brought against them for lowering the fan speed though. i'd love to see some voltage testing on various motherboards, pre and post 147xx dash. would be quite interesting if it was only xenons.

          • avatar Cript says:

i agree the voltage testing is a good idea ! u never know what Microsoft may be up to .

  31. avatar Zos says:

People are concerned that microsoft might read your drives firmware during the update process. So the idea is if you hacked firmware it might be readable during a firmware upgrade.

Prior updates reflashed the burners with a new firmware to support the extra space on xgd3 discs. If they can flash it, it stand to reason they might read it.

there's no conclusive evidence one way or the other as to whether or not the can read it, or if they can, if they do, and if they do, whether or not they'll ban them.

know how hard it is (or that you need probes) to read the firmware on newer drives (to get the key), the reading has always been tougher then the writing on the firmware.

The only time I reverted back was the the one where the new firmware update came out. I flashed back to make sure i didn't mess up the update process with the new firmware update coming in.

Good idea, but I'm sure you would be getting connection errors then as M$ would not let you online if they could not get the information you are blocking. It is possible, but as said, probably will not work.

Already updated live…nothing has changed or blocked, backup + truncated games still works flawlessly, just a few hickups with the net when first online. though it's very suspicious that this internet hickups also happened to me when DAE.bin silent update attack and do the background download.

Updated, and for the first time never reverted to stock. Was sick of waiting before and did not even care this time. All seems well, no noticeable changes, BF3 backup launched fine, and to be honest before when I would power on the 360 with a game inside it wouldn't recognize the disc. Recognized right away after the update. Benq phat LT+ 3.0 FYI….the silver bullet still prevails.

And how do you know that this update did not compare a line of code against your drive firmware to confirm it's original stock firmware, and then mark your console serial number for the next Ban wave???
There are many ways Microsoft can mark your console for ban without your "X" value changing. The "X" value only shows if the console itself has triggered any failed AP2.5 security checks from your use of backup discs prior to reporting that information back to the Microsoft server. People assume that because their "X" value remains unchanged and "Xval" reports "secdata clean" that they are ok.
Microsoft could very well have your console serial number logged on the next banned consoles list.

Just because you did not choose to play safe and flash your drive back to stock and the update left your particular drive types firmware alone certainly does not mean your safe! One of these days C4EVA will quote back that indeed an update is detecting non-stock drives through whatever method possible and then you'll regret being so quick to assume it's safe.
Who do you trust? C4EVA, who's broke every update down to its raw data, analysed all communication between various model type consoels and microsoft servers, or Joey-Smart-arse who say's it's all good and safe because his backup game disc still plays! LMAO i know who's advice i'd rather take…
    Gee…

yeah because, verbatims are the only ones which have the quality for smaller steps & lines ,, means ,, the compression for one 8.7gb disc is more readable than on other discs ,, and theres only ( it depents on the continent you live ) 2 or 3 other discs which have the same quality ,, so even here in germany we use verbatim ,, because we find nothing else what burn in these quality class ,, so dont think and buy ,, because you will save a lot of money ,, i used intenso and other brands ,, and i got a verify from imgburn ,, but the box couldnt read it properly ,, so its a matter of quality ,, and folks you will still save a lot of money ,, so dont complain ,, and for the setting ,, use eeprom for the ihas X24 burner and disable Hyper Tuning, Online Hyper Tuning and Overburn ,, then burn 2,4 x or 4 x ,, with OPC enabled in IMGBurn ,, and ITS WORKS 100% everytime ,, and if not ( i had it myself ) the image you downloaded sucks ,, like bf3 or skyrim ,, eveything else whre never the prob ,, and if you want a good source ,, speedlounge.in

If your xbox wont read Verbatims it won't read any other type of burned dvds. And its not that it won't work with any other media its that using other media brands and you might as well go to xbox forums and brag about having burned copies. Verbatim is more expensive because disc surfaces are superb = 0 errors on burns or reads caused by disc surface and thats whay youre paying extra for. Where other cheaper brands have s**tty write surface so when you insert it into xbox the disc could be missing one fragment of topology data = same as not having LT3.0 and topology security. Do you get it now?

bullsh*t. jus use the appropiatte modified burnermax fw to make ur burner perform well with other brands of discs. i've been burning all my xgd3s on cheap common memorex (ID MBIPG101-R10-65) DL-DVDs and not a single one has gave me any kind of problem, failure, read error, or anything like that. burns perfect, reads perfect, i play em like they're originals, zero problems. trust me.

the main reason why other cheap brands fail is because the burner is treating them like they're verbs, doesnt matter if its @2.4x or 4x, CAUSE THOSE ARE CERTAINLY NOT VERBS!
u can find ways of modding the burnermax fw or download one already modified in so many scene forums..(ehemm– *******ISO.COM– eheMM..!). these modded fws will be delicate with ur cheap media once flashed into ur iHAS. =)

You can use other blanks (so my mod provider informed me last time I flashed my drive) but the issue isn't really brand- its total writable area on the disc. To date all we've been provided as an option for comparable brand is verbatim discs as they have been verified as the higher overburn capacity. Not to say that there is some other brand of DL+ on the market out there – no-namer or whatnot – but as long as you run ur game through AGBX360 (and keep ur drive LT+ or whichever firmware up to date), if everything passes u should b fine

    New rumour doing the rounds…
This is indeed part of a multi-set of updates mainly aimed at the integration of a new dash compatible with metro and cross platform variants HOWEVER they are ceasing the oportunity to bundle a few new security protocol onto the end of the final up date (when most peoples guard is down thinking these updates have been ok so far towards LT+ probably) and apparently it will be a hard attempt at RGH disruption and prevention and include some form of firmware "Q block check" to the drive (?!wtf)
This comes from iRC session between "MonSoonSCRIPTZTA" (the claimee) and someone named "HarpWrite9" which immediately went private after the topic began and the 3rd person enterred session
Please don't quiz me any further, this has literally come straight off of an iRC channel from the 3rd person who copied and pasted it over with date/time stamps etc etc. It may be another load of bull. Make of it what you will, but i know how everyone loves rumours at the moment… it'll be on wikipedia in five min lmao

Crimson how can your xbox not play games on verbatim discs? Seems weird to me, maybe you should see if the burns you tried on verbatims were actually done properly or maybe you were trying a game with ap2.5 and didn't realize it was not up to date? And I would also stress the importance of kprobe, all my games verify with imgburn and all pass all checks in abgx but before I completely figured out the burnermax and the best settings for my set up I was getting games with a PIF of 10 or more usually more and even after verifying in imgburn and abxg they would not work properly in the xbox. My advice would be give verbatims one more try as they have been proven time and time again.

    I agree with "miphone"
Just because a disc burnt ok with imgburn and also verified ok doesn't mean its good/reliable/safe etc.
It simply means that the data wrote to the disc ok and was verified as being put onto the disc successfully without error.
Using a program like Kprobe then analyses the disc and it's read related attributes and determines the quality of the actual burn.
A poorly burnt disc can read back with errors or become outside of the acceptable margins required by the average Xbox 360 drive, even though imgburn verified that the data was written on successfully.

So yes, you may well find discs other than verbatim's that write and verify ok however the results from Kprobe can be extremely horrific. I thought i found some good discs for XGD3 backups, but Kprobe showed me otherwise and i am so glad it did otherwise i'd still be using them today and risking my console's validility on Xbox Live.

Another misconception is that just because cheap discs burn ok for you with the average Xbox 360 game backup that they are good for XGD3 games also. No no no. And NO.
XGD3 burning (to be done properly) requires a Lite-on iHAS[x]24B series drive with Burner Max firmware flashed to it (and not just a standard writer with truncate mode ebabled) in order to write the additional data right up to the discs edge.
So because of this you need a good quality disc that can be burnt well towards the outer limit of the disc, and cheap discs often fail at this point.
Truncating discs may make the data fit onto a disc and the disc may even play, but they don't compare to original discs as they should and again you increase the risk of a disc failing a security check.

XGD3 backups should ALWAYS be burnt using an iHAS drive with BurnerMax firmware – it's the closest thing we have at present to reproducing a backup disc comparable to an original.

This thread has gone off-topic, so with that in mind and all the XGD3 disc questions answerred let us return to the topic of: DASHBOARD UPDATE 2.0.14719.0 INFORMATION

LOL no they don't! Don't make such a claim without knowing ur facts!
Aone Gold are one of the cheapest DVD+R DL discs around, yes they may work for standard Xbox 360 backup discs but they sure as hell aren't any good for XGD3 discs! For starters most won't even verify after burn, and if (and i say IF) you do get one to verify try running it through Kprobe… the results are absolutely shocking!
The readability attributes of these discs after burn are awful. PI and PIF figures are sky high and well out of any safe margins. Your Xbox drive is gonna be mis-reading data repeatedly.
Enjoy your soon-to-come ban but don't recommend other's to make the same mistake through bad recommendation and ignorance!

Aone Plus Gold Edition are fine for XGD3. you need to look around to find out what's the optimal settings, discs always misread data, discs get scratched all the time & so do originals. sure the disc quality is not as good as verbs but they do the job, with the right settings they verify in imgburn. it may weaken your 360 drive too but all you have to do is install them to your hard drive and your good to go.

don't assume you can get banned just by using cheap discs, as long as they burn correctly & verify in abgx & imgburn then you have nothing to worry about. tell that to your ignorance.

      • avatar Master F says:

also kprobe tests the durability of the disc, its obvious verbs will have better data reads, its not essential to test with this as long as data is readable & verified with the image (which imgburn will do) true aone won't last long but installing to hdd will sort that issue out

Do you even run your Aone Gold through Kprobe? OK, so youi may get a few go through IMGburn ok and verify by adjusting settings, that's a fair comment, but the burn quality is horrific. I purchased 6 cakes of these (at different times and different sources) and all they were ever good for were standard backup discs. XGD3 were a waste of time with them.
Yes i have an iHAS drive, and iHAS124 and an iHAS524. Yes i know my optimal settings for each brand of disc and batch. So i think i have valid ground to comment on them.
SO… how can you say that Aone Gold are good for XGD3 when you get results like these 19 times out of 20: PI MAX: 829, PI AVG:320.67, PIF MAX 43, PIF AVG 19.04 ???
Would you really want to run that in your Xbox 360 with online use?
Do you either understand the figures Kprobe refers to?
Do you not think that if they were remotely close to performing as a XGD3 needs to perform someone like C4EVA would have made a referance to them by now as useable? or at least some other group like Team Xecuter or iXtreme? No. They all dismiss them. Instantly. Kprobe figures for these discs stand as the reason.

And of course cheap discs can get you a ban, same as quality verbatim disc, all it takes is one ap2.5 security check failure which can be caused by either a bad burn or misread. The only thing you can change is the odds of that happening. Know your stuff, research by READING and LEARNING and don't be so quick as to stop when someone says something you don't agree because you didn't think that far into it.
If you read more information instead of argueing on forums then maybe you would learn a thing or two.

    • avatar Master F says:

it's not true it doesn't take 1 flag infact it takes multiple flags to be able to be banned with XGD3's and tbh m$ know that original XGD3's will fail over time so the flags due to data being misread is irrelevant, because even originals fail authorization. This is true because m$ had to unban people that weren't even running backups, they even unbanned people that actually were (a friend of mine on LT+ was unbanned & was compensated with m$ points lol). So disc reliability is not the issue. The only time a flag is possible is if ap data is invalid(as in wrong patch), i know this because i have mistakenly done this & have notice my x value changes which means my system detected an error (not sure if its a reported flag tho)

in fact i did a test with a friend, he has verbs for his xgd3's & ap2.5 and i had aones, he had an invalid ap25 disc & he got banned… while all my aone discs were fine & verified (without kprobe) i was still running backups online. which pretty much proves that as long as ap data is valid & verified you should be ok. my discs PI MAX was over 400 but it didn't result in a flag for me…

i understand if ap25 data cannot be read could lead to a flag but it's very difficult for a disc to get bad civ checks because the ap25 data is very small & very unlikely to be damaged, using kprobe just adds another layer of protection to check disc integrity & media durability, like i said it takes multiple flags, a game that can't boot will lead to 1 flag & means we just burn a fresh copy. Verbs are the best but even verbs get scratched which can also lead to data being misread thus resulting in a flag.

C4e only recommends verbs but until i hear c4eva saying you must use kprobe i will & until i get banned for using aones with xgd3's (meaning that if my media was proven the cause) i will start using verbs. i'm not saying your wrong but your level of protection is almost paranoia. But for now i am confidence in using aones till the end.

      • avatar Jabo says:

His level of protection definitely sounds like paranoia.
I am another one of the A-One Gold Plus XGD3 backup users who can burn at 2.4x and verify 100% and who is still online.
And like you I will only move to Verbatims when c4eva says that we MUST.

i think now we've reached a happy medium of valid discussion lol…
There's lots i agree with there, a few things i don't, but i wouldn't be so quick as to disregard using Kprobe results so quickly. I think that program can be a real aid into ensuring a better disc for those who are concerned.
I'm not paranoid, what i am is determined to try and protect my ability to use Xbox Live through the safest practice possible and avoid a ban at all costs. If that means i'm reassured by using Kprobe and seeing a more reliable quality of disc, and am prepared to spend those extra few minutes analysing my disc at the end of each burn procedure then thats all good and well. If you choose not to then again, that's at your discretion and entirely your choice.
I think it gives a clear idea of whether you are producing a good backup disc or not aswell, as i have seen many people burning Verbatim discs with bad results that Kprobe has helped identify and allowed these users to fine-tune their settings and perfect their burns.
My conclusion is simply this: if your using cheap media as an alternative to Verbatim's then you must expect a lesser quality result, it's been proven a billionfold over that Verbatim truly are a superior quality disc, but if you are happy to accept that and work with the lesser quality discs then why not use Kprobe to show you clearly what quality game disc you are producing at the end?
You can then try and improve it, and at least you'll know you have done the best you can against protecting yourself from any potential ban from Microsoft.
For a lot of people who use Xbox Live this is a crucial thing.
I don't like your idea of "produce a disc that triggers one flag then just go and produce another one", to most that is exactly what they are trying to avoid at all costs.

I would not want to risk triggering ANY flags regardless of how many are enough to cause Microsoft to ban you. Many people will share that thought.

There were indeed reports of a few people getting bans with legitimate media, but you immediately contradict yourself by saying that "the only time a flag is possible is if ap data is invalid (as in wrong patch)", so if thats the case how were genuine disc user's banned lmao? Their original discs didn't have invalid ap data or invalid patches! They were original! Their disc's were misread by their drive causing a flag, whether it was through scratches or a poor failing lense, but through misreading of data from a disc all the same. Hence the theory of perfecting backup disc burning the best way you can (using Kprobe to aid you to do that) can only help you in your bid to reduce the odds of getting a ban yourself…

Is that not a fair comment to put forward ?
The key to all of this is how much does a potential ban bother you, or affect you, as to whether or not you want to go through any extra steps when producing your backup.

For those who are intent on trying to maintain a more online-safe Xbox i certainly would not advise them that cheaper brands such as Aone Gold are prefectly fine for XGD3 use, nor make any such statement that would imply that they were, as from my own personal experience i don't believe they are. Nor do the majority views of such expert groups such as Team Xecuter or iXtreme. Read their forum posts, see their results, make your own judgement.
At least advise them through some sort of comparison so they can make their own decision:

Verbatim mkm003 media typical Kprobe values are: PI MAX 54, PI AVG 16.32, PIF MAX 3, PIF AVG 1.84
Aone Plus Gold media typical Kprobe values are: PI MAX 812, PI AVG 331.58, PIF MAX 79, PIF AVG 28.08

What is considered as acceptable maximum values by most groups: PI MAX 100, PIF MAX 4
…so going off those figures alone it clearly gives someone an idea as to how cheaper media performs in comparison to premium media such as Verbatim or Mitsubishi that use AZO layer dye. The choice is theirs to make.

Thankyou for taking time to give a good debate… We all share a united interest let's not let that upset anyone along the way. Regards

        • avatar Master F says:

i agree with you, using kprobe will ensure that your media is less likely to receive errors & i guess i understand why you chose to go to that level of protection, verbs are the best, they use the same hard coating technology that blu ray discs use. But so far aones even with high PI rates, i get about over 400 it still doesn't cause an error when verifying with imgburn or installing to the 360s hdd, i believe as long as it is capable of doing those it should be fine, though you may prove me wrong in the next ban wave but you never know what could happen next dash update, topology patch may not even be correct in the future and all the kprobes with verbs might have been unnecessary.

but its definitely a good thing that some people do use it & some people don't so in future we can identify flags & errors & compare.

i use verbs on my fav games (which is about 4 games lol) the rest are just aones

Well, now that you mention it, the oddest thing is happening to me since the latest update. A few weeks ago I kamikazed a 0225 slim, with 14699. After flashing 3.0 I got the dreaded "Play DVD" error. I thought I could have ruined the IC, unlikely, but possible nonetheless.

I kamikazed a spare PCB and flashed 3.0 – same error.
I flashed a Xecuter replacement PCB – same error.
Got the original PCB and flashed/placed it on another console – worked fine.
Flashed the original PCB back to stock – worked fine.
Flashed the original PCB back to 3.0 – failed with "Play DVD" error
Flashed to 2.0 – worked fine.

Today I got another 0225 with 1.91 and 14719 dashboard, upgraded to 3.0 – got "play DVD" error.
Flashed back to stock – worked fine.
Flashed to 2.0 – worked fine.

This means that there seems to be something wrong with LT+3.0 for 0225, something that causes the error with certain consoles with 0225/LT+3.0/14699(and above) combination.

Anyone else that may have experienced something similar?

Why the hell don't you read/listen – You can update and continue to play games online " IF YOU WANT TOO " you are reccomended to wait in the case that there is a hidden security update that may make you more vaulnerable to being detected , flagged , or banned…

BOTTOM LINE , Understand this everyone please – if you choose to be patient and wait , just keep checking back here until you read that C4E has cleared us to do this update , or a resolution to what ever it may do is released EXTREMELY SIMPLE !!!!

You don't know that. I have taken a look at the update files myself, and indeed there are a group of files that do look like firmware flash files. I'm no expert and won't pretend to be one, but these look just like the prior updates that flashed drive firmwares.
There seems to be mixed responses to the update so far. Most people who update "seem" ok. I myself can verify that a BENQ VAD6038 still runs after the update (this drive was flashed to stock prior to update and flashed back afterwards) but some users are complaining that their drives are no longer functioning.
Some could be due to user error through bad flashing, but let's try and get some CONCLUSIVE results.
From now on can all comments be from people who have updated stating what drive you have and whether you flashed to stock firmware before updating or not.
At least we can get some constructive results while we await C4EVA's analysis.

    I'll start:
    —————————————————————————————————————
BENQ VAD6038 – Flashed to stock for update – Flashed to LT+3.0 after update – working
    —————————————————————————————————————
Can we all make posts like that? Let's see if any patterns emerge.

my source is my experience. i have done the update. i also have read many people saying they did the update and "games still worked fine". i know that it does not reflash your drive as one of the systems that i updated had a liteon drive in it instead of a benq. if it was reflashing the drive, then i would not have passed this update. slims are locked, so they aren't being updated. like i said if it isn't working then somewhere along the way something got messed up, and i highly doubt that it could due to the system udpate. i have seen many people who are well-respected in the xbox scene say that it is only a bugfix from 14717, however do not mistake that i am saying there is no need to wait for c4eva's clearance. i am just telling you, posting that you updated and everything works is NOT conclusive of anything. just cause i tell you what drive i have is no indication of how capable i am of flashing to stock, updating, and flashing LT again. for example, the person who claims that 3.0 gives play dvd error on his 0225 drive, but it works with 2.0 and stock fw. i find it very hard to believe that can be anything besides user error. 14699 is not new anymore so, if there was an issue with 3.0 for 0225 drive on the new dash, we would have heard more about it, like when the hitachi 78/79 got 2.0b.

Wrong. Your user error was not reverting to stock like c4eva always says. If your flashing Xboxes and taking peoples money from them and using this as your 'best practice' then you shouldn't be flashing Xboxes.

Liteon 9504 (0272) flashed to stock and then updated – Working as it should.

This is my own personal xbox which I flashed, and experimented on.

This is the first time I have ever done this. The discussion is not about if I went back to stock and flashed. Other people have not gone back to stock and updated and they say everything is working fine. I know I should have went back to stock but that ain't the point. The point is that people are saying it is safe to update and I am trying to tell them it isn't because I foolishly done this and have come unstuck.

Be safe and wait till the man speaks.

"If your flashing Xboxes and taking peoples money from them and using this as your 'best practice' then you shouldn't be flashing Xboxes."

I don't. This was with my own console. I don't flash other peoples Xboxes and if I was then I would use best practive according to c4eva.

"I wonder if it is best practice to update before c4eva speaks…."

What I did wouldn't be best practice if I was flashing other peoples Xboxes but I'm not. I have a couple of consoles that can easily be replaced if need be.

All these drive comments are helpful.
C4eva has not spoke yet, and a lot of people are worried, a lot are saying its perfectly fine, and it's leaving a mass of confusion for others.
Now i doubt anyone here has updated and flashed every possible model and drive type of Xbox 360 so noone can say for certain all models, drives, and variants are all working ok. We may well find that one particular drive type is not working correctly after updating but only if not flashed to stock first, or some sort of result similar.

So lets make use of the time waiting for Commodores analysis, it's certainly not hurting to say, and wouldn't it be nice to know a bit more FOR SURE?:

    ————————————————————————————————————————————–
Xbox 360 Phat – Benq VAD 6038 – flashed to stock before update – flashed to LT+3.0 after update – working
    ————————————————————————————————————————————–

At least we can see if all drives are working ok with LT+ after the update under the two criteria of if they were returned to stock firmware before the update or not. I'm sure C4E would rather see something constructive in the comments rather than arguements over tit-for-tat comments.
Thanks guys. We all share a united interest so lets work together.

I can say for sure to have done the following and are currently working fine:

      - Xbox phat – Benq VAD 6038 – updated with LT+2.0 by customer – flashed to LT+3.0: working
      - Xbox phat – LiteOn 16D2S 0251 – updated with LT+1.91 by customer – flashed to LT+3.0: working
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 16D4S 0225 – stock fw when updated (14699) – flashed to LT+3.0: not working / flashed to 3.0u: not working / flashed back to stock: working / flashed to 2.0: working
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 16D4S 0225 – updated with LT+1.91 by customer (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: not working / flashed to 3.0u: not working / flashed back to stock: working / flashed to 2.0: working
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0225 – stock fw when updated (14699) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working except the two mentioned above)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0401 – stock fw when updated (14699) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 1071 – stock fw when updated (14699) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0401 – stock fw when updated (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 1071 – stock fw when updated (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0225 – updated with LT+1.91 or 2.0 by customer (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0272 – updated with LT+2.0 or 1.91 by customer (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 0401 – updated with LT+2.0 or 1.91 by customer (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)
      - Xbox slim – LiteOn 1071 – updated with LT+2.0 or 1.91 by customer (14719) – flashed to LT+3.0: working (several consoles – all working)

Some of these slims do seem to randomly have this "play dvd" error when switching games, but it dissapears once you turn off/on the console.

The only two consoles that I've had problems with are:

The first console was 0225/14699/stock when flashed to 3.0
The second console was 0225/14799/LT+1.91 when flashed to 3.0

It's is my opinion that there may be some bug in the 0225 version of the 3.0 cfw that appears randomly on certain consoles. I failed to save either log or OFW, but if I get another 0225 (or any fw) I'll make sure I save both to be sent to c4e for analysis.

    theft

    [ ] :D < Original taken

    Piracy
    [:D] < Original
[:D] :D < Original still intact and copied

We're interweebz pirates, not thiefs and most people do it because they can't pay for all of the best games out there, some others do it to protect their retail copies of the games safe.

I hope this is a cure for the symptoms of retardation some people have been showing.

maybe he was on vacation? do you guys really think all c4eva does is sit around and do xbox stuff all day every day? why should he have to warn you everytime? as soon as you see the system update, that's your warning. there is no "ban wave season." they just happened to do it a few times before large releases which often come at the end of fall to be in time for the holidays. i'm going to laugh if c4e clears this update and everyone is left wondering why their stuff isn't working, and why they can't blame the firmware. oh and for the people who say piracy isn't stealing… stop kidding yourself. justify it all you want, but if you get something that people want to charge for, without paying, that's wrong. i could sneak into a movie and i'm not taking away from their sales. or what if i copied coca cola's secret recipe. they still have theirs so no loss to them, but what about all the sales they lose when i start selling their product for half price. they spend tons to research and produce a marketable product and i just "steal" all the time and effort and money they put into it. or the example found on another site, if i copied answers from someone on an exam, i am stealing the time they spent studying. even though they don't lose anything, i still gained something i did not earn nor deserve.

Your post started off ok, then you veered off into tardville. Your analogy fails, backing up a game for yourself does not equal copying cokes recipe and selling it. Those who sell backups are thieves, just like your coke analogy is stealing. Because you are willing to accept something at no charge, that you wouldn't have bought if it weren't available at no charge is not stealing you dolt.

        • avatar YourSoulEater says:

          that's your thoughts
for me playing downloaded games that somebody uploaded to the internet is not stealing, me for example:
i took 2 years to have money to buy a x360, i only bought it because i knew it was possible to flash
so i download the games that somebody uploads because he feels the need to share it on the internet
if it wasnt for that i wouldnt be able to play the many good games out there, also not all of my friends have flashed xboxes so when i play a good game i tell them that the game i'm playing is really good and it has multiplayer and blah blah
so after some months they buy it to play it with me, so it can be good for developers too
also i buy many arcade games and DLC's, i pay xbox live too so i contribute even if it's little to some little developers and to microsoft

there's different ways to see it but even remedy and other developers say that piracy is also good because pirates play the game, give them their own opinion of how good the game is, pirates share their thougts with their friends etc

that logic of not deserving or deserving is absurd, u didnt do anything to born so u dont deserve to be alive?
i know what u mean but even if u dont earn something in your life it doesnt mean that you dont deserve it
an homeless guy that only steals from markets so he can survive doesnt deserve that some good soul give him food or money?
is it bad to accept something that u didnt earn?
i think it depends just like piracy
          but that's my opinion =)

Ok- I am running a Phat Liteon DG-16D2S. I actually toasted my drive(plugged in drive power cable upside down; DOH) so the drive I used is a brand new replacement. So I first updated to LT3.0 with this new drive to make sure it worked okay with my old key and whatnot. My usb drive always gives errors on dashboard updates so I just burned the dashboard update to a blank dvd. Flashed to stock then did the update. After testing an original I threw LT3.0 back on there. Tested both xgd3 and non-xgd3 and they (knock on wood) all seem to be working in order. I know it is smart to wait until c4 has analyzed live logs and whatnot but I take all responsibility for my actions if this goes haywire and all of us who did not wait are marked for a ban. Anyways, I hope I was of some help and someone can take something positive away from my results. Cheers!

There must be a hundred comments now asking if C4eva knows.
If it was safe he'd say so.
If it's not safe he'd say so.
The fact that nothing so far has been said neither means good or bad, and assumptions make things worse.
Noone at present can say for sure it's safe to update.
Noone at present can say it's not safe to update.

ALL WE CAN DO WHILE WE WAIT FOR C4EVA IS SHARE OUR OBSERVATIONS WITH EACH OTHER so anyone who doesn't want to wait any longer can see if anyone else with the same drive type had any issues and make their own decision as to whether or not to run the update and reflash their drive with LT+.

Already it can be observed that several people are having a few minor issues with Xbox Slims and LT+3.0 on a certain type Lite-on drive. Info like this can help people decide what they want to do.
It DOES NOT guarantee you are safe from any future ban, but it can reassure people that a certain model and drive type have been ok after updating and continues to operate, and whether these people flashed the drive to stock or not for the update. If there were ANY issues such as a particular model drive being reflashed if not returned to stock first, or anything along them lines we will then hopefully have enough reports to say for certain.
Please don't comment with "It's not flashing drive firmware" simply because your one drive went through the update with LT+ firmware left untouched – there are LOTS of different drive types and as shown by previous updates in the past certain models can get flashed whilst others remain untouched.

As of yet noone has been able to clarify what the below files from the update are and what they do:
    FFFE07DF00000001,
    FFFE07DF00000002,
    FFFE07DF00000006,
    FFFE07DF00000008.
They look similar to previous updates that did contain firmware flash files, it would be good if someone could verify!

Come on guys, c4eva will most likely to be busy. there are 3 drives still in progress on the main page.

I assume he/she is a person and needs sleep and food etc

If you are playing backups of games you own then play the originals for a few days.

If you are stealing from developers then either buy an original copy or pull your bottom lip in.

Flash to stock first then Microsoft would be none the wiser. If it makes you so paranoid to update your xbox/games then is all the stress really worth it?

c4 does this all for free, you can donate but that's a thank you for the hard work he has already done. Doesn't mean you are entitled to anything more than the next person.

Chill, crack open a beer or soft drink and watch a movie or play originals.

    Hello Friends,
I do not know if this new Dash is with the proper fix, but when I put the DASH 2.0.14717, Games XGD3 installed on the HD does not run, gives an error: "ERROR IN THE AUTHORIZATION OF DISCO."
Can anyone tell me what this is??

lol, took you 2 years to come up with enough money, and you only bought it because you knew it was flashable, but you consider yourself better than others? :P
if you don't think you are stealing by downloading games other have uploaded then there's nothing more to add, Not everyone is as broke as you, don't assume because you can't buy games that others cannot. I have over 100 bought games and I have 3 360, one is legit, so I don't care that it's taking forever, I have other options. and a picture to you if you don't believe any of this is not a problem, just say it :)
It's because of people like you that we get protection updates all the time, too cheap to buy the games that deserve it. You probably have a home made probe too, since your so f*in cheap.

where the hell did i say that i'm better than the others dumb bitch?
just because u have a lot of money to spend on 3 xbox 360's and 100 games doesnt mean that the others can buy all of that
it took me 2 years because im not as good as many people out there
i have bills to pay that are almost my full salary, every month i saved 10 euros that's why it took me 2 years to buy one xbox 360
i buy games that i really like. like mass effect, halo, gears of war, ninja gaiden, devil may cry
but there's a lot of games that i would love to try or play with my friends like fifa, dead island, etc
those are the games that i burn
just because u are a rich bastard that comes here just to show up saying that u can buy that
if so i dont even know why u are here when u can buy all those games.
and u just quoted that part even when in the next one i've said that i contribute to little developers and microsoft buying arcade and retail games that i like, so yeah you're right about me being a cheap motherf**ker -.-

Currently, only the "B" versions of the iHAS drives are supported. However, the team has been collecting dumps of the new "C" version for a while, and c4eva plans to take a look at doing a version of Burner MAX that supports it.

      [added note 2012-03-18 06:29PM UTC]

I've already seen this incite rumour from people misinterpreting and jumping to conclusions, so let me clarify my previous comments on this subject by saying that despite c4eva's intention, this is by no means a guarantee that the C's can or will be done. The C version employs a new encrypted chipset, and as of right now, Burner MAX fw will not work with it.

Lite-On has discontinued production of the B version, and many retailers/wholesalers will soon (if they haven't already) run out of stock and/or raise prices on what stock they still have.

We strongly recommend that you make every effort possible to find a B version while they're still available.

It does seem wierd that this 'log' check is taking so long. I also think the people getting the disc authenticity errors could be screwed and flagged for ban? Has that been only slim users that have experienced that error?

I have a phat liteon/jasper that I have managed to keep online and not banned for about 2 years now. I don't use it that much (just for online) because I also have a jtag with a big old HD so that is my primary. The best way to stay unbanned is by being patient and listening to c4e. One thing I really appreciate is that his reputation is gold. I don't think he has ever misled us or caused us to be banned, we do that to ourselves.

So just chill, stay offline, and if you are going online then do what everyone recomends, stock/update/lt3 and then cross your fingers and hope or just play xgd2 games and not worry to much. I just hope M$ hasn't already foiled LT3+ because a lot of work went into the 'sliver bullet' solution as well the update of ABGX. Plus verbatim is making a killing of this with all the coasters to tune for xgd3 and the AP checks that have forced us to do all these reburns….lol. Oh well life could be a lot worse as I could be paying for this s**t in euros and living with one system in a 500sqft apartment.

Splatterhead: xval doesn't check anything except whether or not you have failed an ap2.5 check. i don't need xval to tell me that. as soon as i see an Unrecognized Disc error on an xgd3, there you go, flagged. but again no one knows that this will mean a ban. it's not useful in this case. if there is something sneaky in this update it's not going to flag your xval or zval or anything else obvious… just wait for c4eva to speak if you are worried.

spudman01: if you are talking about http://majornelson.com/2012/02/16/xbox-360-system-update-rolling-out/ i don't see anything interesting there. maybe you could be a little more clear on that. is this the page you are talking about? how did MS screw up? i believe that post is talking about 14717, which has already been cleared by c4e, and 14719 is what we are waiting on now. funny how nobody that i have talked to has had ANY problems at all with the new update. no glitches, nothing bricked, no "i can't install to hdd anymore", so i don't know what the deal is with that. it has already been said: this update is a bugfix from 14717, it does not affect rgh or cfw in any way. now keep in mind, just saying that it doesn't affect it doesn't mean there isn't something behind the scenes that will make it unsafe. i can take my jtag online if i want to. it will work…for a while. but it's not safe and microsoft will ban it.

At present, XVal is only valid for checking AP2.5 failure flags (Redline99 said that if he has time, he might take a look at updating XVal to bring it in-line with the flag sets in current kernel versions). Keep in mind though that being flagged doesn't necessarily mean MS will do anything about it.

off topic a bit, but my Samsung MS25 drive is starting to squeel very loud. I intend to replace it asap.
Is it LIVE safe to use a BENQ VAD6038 with my samsung's drive key written in as a replacement?

The Samsung MS25 would not flash back to stock (wouldn't enter vendor mode) so for the update process i fitted the stock BENQ into it using the same drive key as the samsung just so the dash update would run, Xbox seemed fine with it and allowed the dash update to install, so it let me do the update ok.
Previously trying to update from 14699 dash to the newest 14719 update refused to complete with a E66 error, because the samsung had LT+2.01 on it still and i couldnt get it to flash back to stock at the time.

So can i leave the BENQ drive in? Some people "spoof the drive to look like another model" and i could spoof the Benq VAD6038 to look like a Samsung MS25 but i heard thats not wise and i fail to understand why i would need to when it works ok with just the drive key put into it and left as a BENQ still…

Can anyone explain properly about such setups, as i heard Microsoft themselves do it with some machines they service, replacing drives with another brand. Obviously i'd rather leave the BENQ in than have to buy another Samsung of the exact type.

    Thankyou.

I once sent an Xbox for repair after its drive failed. I UV marked all the components (I wanted to see what MS replaced and did) and the only parts that came back changed was the DVD drive itself. They changed from a BenQ to a Liteon. By that Im guessing it's safe, so long as it ISN'T spoofed.

From what I understand they say that US (meaning random people and not M$) spoofing drives is detectable thus making it against their TOS and resulting in a flag for banning. Im sure if M$ is spoofing drives they have access to put that info into their system to allow that drive to pass their checks. Bottom line is what they say now is yes technically it will read and play the games but M$ will be able to detect its not what is supposed to be in there is they will flag you for a ban.

      Reply | Reply with Quote
      • avatar QuickMythril says:

MS "SPOOFING": when microsoft changes the dvd drive they also change the info stored in your nand that says what drive you are supposed to have, so it wouldn't be spoofed. it would just be normal. the reason people can't just dump their nand and do this themselves (and still be able to go online), is that the files would need to be resigned with MS private key. if your files are unsigned you would have to have a jtag or rgh to continue usage (which is of course detectable and always banned by MS).

tuadasftwer: if you went online, whether it was gold or silver, you are still connecting to xbox live servers and your console is not banned. i have had xboxes with flagged xval that continue to work online with no problems. doing updates without flashing to stock does not flag your xval. that only happens when you fail an ap2.5 check… in other words, you tried to boot a disc that cannot give the proper response to an ap2.5 challenge. do not blame the 13599 update. it is because your disc was not proper. personally i don't think they will ban you if they haven't by now. the silent update didn't come in until 13604 btw…

Is LT+2.01 for Samsung TS-H943 MS25/MS28 safe for Xbox Live, just like LT+3.0 for other drives is?
I used Xbox Live with my Benq VAD6038 for a long time without any issues and never got banned or flagged for ban, but that xbox died beyond repair and my spare replacement Xbox 360 has a Samsung TS-H943 drive and i wanna take it online with my backups…
So can anyone advise if C4eva has ever said his LT+2.01 samsung firmware is live safe?
    Thankyou.

Has anyone else noticed a change in fan speeds on the older Xbox 360 Xenon consoles?
I was previously on 14699 dash and just updated to 14719 dash, and now my fans run really slowly and quietly and my Xbox is pumping out really warm air. Before it used to run the fans a bit faster and so the aire flowed out more quickly and was a lot cooler.
I'm now worried it's gonna get too hot and start overheating / RROD which is the last thing i need right now as i just lost my best Xbox 360 to RROD beyond repair :-(

Are you sure the update did this? I have a Jasper but didn't notice any fan speed changes. I'll check it out again. If they did do this intentionally do you think MS is silently trying to kill off all the old xbox's so ppl will HAVE to buy slims, thus having a harder time to flash firmware/RGH hacks?

Yeah, wonder what's up with this latest update as well. I fully understand that c4eva has a life and all, but how hard would it be just post up some quick response on this update from him. I mean say something like he hasnt had the time to check it out, so update at your own risk would be something anyways. Something official from c4eva himself on this latest update either way would b great. Thanks for all the hard work you do c4eva.

No-one here should be moaning about an update for the following reasons:

1 – c4eva does this for free. He/she/they can take as much time as they want. He might be on the toilet, might be on holiday, might be busy with his/hers/their personal life,
2 – If you really want to play online then flash back to stock and play your originals games which you should have because playing backups of games that you do not own is illegal.

Uber geek did confirm this to be a safe update and I trust Uber Geek as much as c4eva. As admin says only c4eva does the logs. I don't know if Uber Geek can do them too but still. The choice is yours. Many people have updated. I have on one of my consoles as an experiment. My games play fine. I'm waiting for c4eva to confirm before I do my other console.

I pressume the next comment will be from a smartass. *sigh*.

i have said this numerous times: Ubergeek ONLY said it "does not affect cfw or rgh." that just means your drive fw will not be reflashed and your cb will not be updated. he never said "i checked it all out and there are no secret flags or anything behind the scenes." i knew day 1 that it didn't affect cfw or rgh… because i updated and dumped my nand. COME ON PEOPLE THINK!!!

    Yes, definately sure.
This Xenon Xbox 360 (phat) was my spare xbox, which i still used fairly regular.
It was on 14699 dashboard and when the 14717 update hit i updated my main Zephyr Xbox 360 but deliberately did not update the Xenon Xbox 360 just incase updating was a bad move.
Then the 14719 update came immediately after 14717 and yet again i held off from updating and just updated the Zephyr Xbox. Then the Zephyr died with RROD, and i had to update the Xenon so i could continue playing online.

    To clarify:
The Xenon was on dash 14699, and was updated online straight to 14719 (missing the the 14717 update inbetween)
Before the update the fans used to run around mid speed, noisier and faster than the Zephyr for sure, but i didn't mind because it ran much much cooler.

After the update the fans are virtually silent – they run much much slower compared to what they used to run at, and at first i thought they'd stopped working or had come unplugged because i was that used to hearing them in this Xbox.
Nothing has changed on the Xbox other than the dashboard being updated from 14699 to 14719 and at the exact same time as this update all of a sudden my fans run at a slower rate…
The fan speed of my Zephyr didn't appear to change at all. It has always run at a lower more quieter rate and has never changed through any of the updates i've ever applied.

Now i wouldn't have thought Microsoft would deliberately alter fan speed values with the intention of expiring as many old consoles as possible, maybe to improve noise levels or such a similar idea, but surely not to finish them off?!!!
I read a discussion somewhere else in the past that Microsoft changed the fan rate values once before trying to find a more suitable level that compromised on noise level and cooling effiency but surely it's a bit late to be trying to save Xenon's from warranty returns – Xenon's are all from around the 2006 era so not one would be under warranty anyway!!! So i very much doubt it's a conspiracy to push people into buying a replacement slim :-)
My brother also has a Xenon and he strongly believes his fans have slowed too going off the noise it used to make. The Xenon's have always been the noisier of the Xbox fats, and i think the Samsung drives have always been the noisier dvd drives too…

Sounds unlikey MS would kill old consoles. They don't need much help anyway (they suck). And If MS have changed the fan speed on older consoles, it would be logged. IF they did It's not effected mine, but I do have a 12v fan mod on my Zephyr so I guess they couldn't bypass that. There's been no changes what's so ever, it's running as noisy as it always was.

UPDATE – my brothers xenon xbox just went down with RROD today. He updated to 14719 four days prior and was sure the fans were slower/quieter after updating.
My main zephyr Xbox went RROD 6 days after updating.
Other people have had RROD recently – it could be coincidence but at the same time if the fan speeds were slightly reduced in a bid to quieten xbox's then that would be enough just to push some older xbox's over the edge. Just a slight reduction in fan speed can cause an increase in core temperatures. A few more degree's of heat could easily trigger RROD, same as an extra long gaming session could, or a more graphically challenging game working the GPU harder and hotter could…
Maybe the fan speeds were lowered on all xbox phat models… It's a possibility!
Perhaps someone who hasn't yet updated their older Xbox phat console to 14719 could take note of their fan speed before updating…
but it may just be unlucky coincidence…

12 volt fan mod is a must on anything pre Jasper board. Do that on all the ones I take in working and the ones that I red ring repair. Helps out greatly keeping it running cooler.

i'll refrase my previous comments i basicaly tried to run an xgd3 backup of gears of war 3 on the latest dash with lt+2.01b on an hitachi 79fk i got play game and the gears of war picture for the game showed up on the dash entered game got the menu but upon starting game i got 1 red light, now i put the same backup in another console on older dash one or 2 before the latest dash lt+2.0 hitachi 47 drive this problem does not exist.so i have to say the valentine dash afected the ability to play xgd3 on an hitachi 79fk it's got to be the reason surely?

On the whole fan ordeal, ever since I swapped out the stock fans for the Talismoon red whisper fans, they've run at high rpm a majority of the time regardless of dash updates. The only time I got any sort of error was when my power brick had a massive build up of dust and it triggered the self-preservation shut down.

Idk if the fans actually have anything to do with it, but it sounds like mine is about the only one running as loud as it always has
