Xbox LIVE Dashboard Update 2.0.16202.0 Rolling Out

Microsoft has begun rolling out a new SystemUpdate that brings the Xbox 360 dashboard/kernel version to 2.0.16202.0.

Backups continue to work fine on LT+ v3.0, LTU v1.0, and xk3y offline and on LIVE. [Admin note: LT v2.01 and LT+ v2.0/v2.0b are fine as well!]

Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) posted this about the update:

"In this update, we are correcting some issues such as displaying the incorrect playlist name when launching a playlist from Xbox SmartGlass to the console, an error with Xbox Video closed-captioning and an error with Xbox Music that some were experiencing."

No, it is not safe two play online. On or offline does not mather anymore. If its not safe by c4eva's saying, wait for new cfw. Until that time, flash to stock and play originals, oh you don't have any? Pirating is not allowed i guess!

If someone can answer this, isn't good starting point for M$ about flagging some
consoles is to see who stop using live since they release the update and will start
use it immediately after c4eva confirm the live log !??

What if someone (with stock fw) doesn't install the update at its release day and do it then by coincidence when c4eva confirm the live log? ;)

That would NEVER happen. For them to ban a console they have to have good reason to believe the terms of service etc have been violated. They couldn't mark someone's console for ban just because they happened to perform the update the same day it got mentioned on a firmware website such as c4evaspeaks.com. It's ludicrous lol, it would be absolute chaos and bombarment of complaints from innocent users if they did do such a thing. Something so coincidental just wouldn't stand.
So i'm afraid your idea is not practical for them whatsoever. A very curious mind you do have lol… just becareful the evil teddies under the bed don't poison your cornflakes at breakfast time ;-)

Well I didn't mean that they will ban you after that, I meant that they might put a mark on the record of that console and put another mark for another update and another one for something else that they might think the terms of service have been violated for, until console reach a specific number of marks witch is will make it very suspicious console to them and then ban it!! I know it might sound complicated but it's not very far from true. ;)

i imagine various things can contribute to their decision to ban a console, but if anything it would more likely be things such as say a UK GamerTag associated to a PAL system having NTSC titles in it's play history (remember a lot of Region Free scene releases are taken from NTSC source disc and can have a different XEX CRC to the PAL release, even if both are Region Free!)
or other things that would only be possible should the system have been tampered with/modified.
The main thing is to try and do your best to keep off their radar in the first place. It makes me chuckle how many people try playing pre-release games online way before official release date and then try argueing out their console ban on the Xbox Live forums! Strangely they never seem to succeed in getting Microsoft to undo their ban heheh…

Phat Liteon w/LT3.0 updated without reverting to stock. Have not reverted to stock for an update in a long time. Everything seems fine but there is always a risk of being banned always. Its so late in the console cycle that i doubt they will be doing another banwave for things other than idiots playing halo 4 weeks before release (you got what you had coming to you). Everything they went through with the last ban wave was a ton of bad press and money spent on resources to knock peoples xbox's out. As far as the thousand people constantly asking IS IT SAFE TO UPDATE? IS IT SAFE TO PLAY ONLINE? Its never been 100% safe but usually if there is something to worry about or something you should wait for its posted on the main page by Admin or C4. Seeing as there is no real warnings i would say go ahead and update however which way you do it and continue to play. If you dont update and stay offline you are banning yourself. Who knows if C4 will have the time to run a livelog on this small update due to how busy he is with the new PCB and LTU for 1175 drives.

Wow Brail, working for MS I say, let us ban ourself then. Or maybe the 720 is watertight and unhackable and let us be? I do not believen that and will wait at least this week for c4eva sayin. I do not trust you Brail!!!

Wait as long as you want you may never get an answer. As for working for microsoft your just plain retarded or havent been doing this very long. Ive been using C4's firmware since its inception and the floods of repetitive comments gets old not just for me but for everyone on here constantly asking the same question over. Every time there has been something questionable or to worry about in a update C4 and admin post people update at your own risk. If you look at the main page like most people should do its says 2.0 , 3.0 , LTU all working fine after update. It doesnt say be careful it , it doesnt possible issue. The dash kernel only changed a couple of points meaning it was just a fix for issues that they already had with the original big update for the season. I was just putting info out there from my experience no has to listen. I was just trying to help. You are the reason people get paranoid about update. If C4 or Admin second guesses the update then so will I. Enjoy playing offline.
